Parent Reviews
I would like to take a moment to show my appreciation for the service provided by Ms. Stephanie and her staff at the Davenport, Iowa KinderCare location. Being able to drop off a three-year-old into a safe place where he learns each day how to prepare for his journey in life is a decision of trust that the staff does not take lightly. They listen and they care.
via KinderCare.comI love bringing my daughter to KinderCare. I know while I am away at work she will be well cared for. Her teachers are very attentive to her needs and keep me posted about her day. When she had her four month shots, she was a little fussy. Her teacher rocked her until she was calm. My daughter and I are always greeted by the wonderful teachers when we come in. When my little girl misses a day, the teachers miss her... they genuinely miss her! That shows me how much all of the teachers care for and about my daughter. Thank you for everything, Davenport KinderCare!
Our story starts in July of 2013. My husband's youngest sister passed away unexpectedly and left behind her two-year-old son. For many reasons, it was not in his best interest to be returned to his father, so my husband and I became his temporary guardians until we could figure out what was going to be our next step. We have two of our own children, 22 and 25 years old at the time, and both my husband and I work full time outside of the home. In addition to many other things, we needed to find a place for him to go during the day while we worked - as soon as humanly possible! That's where KinderCare comes into the picture. I had asked for suggestions from my peers at work and one of them brought up our Davenport KinderCare location. She had taken her daughter there when she was younger (she's 23 years old now), and couldn't say enough good things about the care her daughter received. I called the center and arranged a meeting and tour of the facility for the following week. From my first phone call, I felt this may be the right spot for our nephew - neither Stephanie nor Andrea could have been any more pleasant to speak with right from the start. My husband and I went for our first meeting with Stephanie and were immediately met with kindness and compassion for our situation, and reassurance that they would do whatever they could to help us with our unique circumstances. We left the center that day (me in tears) knowing that this was going to be the best place for all of us. It was an immediate sense of relief knowing that he would be so well cared for, especially given what he had endured for the first two years of his life. Prior to his first day, Stephanie and Andrea made sure we were familiar with what to expect - from his daily schedule to what emotions he would most likely experience for the first several days and/or weeks. They answered all of our questions without hesitation and continued to reassure us that they were there to help us. His first days were difficult - at least the "dropping off" part - but just as everyone told us, as time went on there were less and less tears and more and more smiles than we could have imagined. He has been there for about eight months now, and has made more progress than my husband and I ever expected him to. Everyone we have come in contact with over the past several months has been pleasant, patient, and has showed a genuine interest in his well-being. Again, everyone has been great, but I can't end this message without specifically addressing his teacher, Ms. Cathy. She has been a life-saver for him as well as for my husband and I. She has served as his educator, but also as a symbol of routine, structure, security, and affection - all of which he was in desperate need of. My husband and I often speak of how Ms. Cathy has made such an impact on all of our lives, not just our nephew's, and how grateful we are for her. What would we do without her? She has gone above and beyond to give him a foundation to build on - a foundation that will serve him well for years to come. In closing, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for providing an educational program that has given our nephew the opportunity to flourish, and thank you for having a center full of dedicated, compassionate people who have helped my husband and I to navigate through what has been an exceptionally challenging and emotional chapter in our lives. We are beyond grateful for KinderCare.
