Delphi Academy of Los Angeles is an independent private school serving preschool through high school, operated as part of Delphi Schools, Inc., a non-profit network established in 1973. The school uses a competency-based approach — the Delphi Program — in which students advance by demonstrating mastery rather than by age or time spent on a subject, with each student working from an individualized academic program. The high school reports an average GPA of 3.85 and that 85% of college-bound graduates attend a college of their choice, of whom 95% complete their degrees. A WASC evaluator noted that over half of current students are second-generation Delphi enrollees.
