Parent Reviews
Our experience with the Escuelita Alegría has been truly exceptional. From the moment we enrolled our two-year-old son, we’ve been consistently impressed by the warmth, professionalism, and dedication of the teachers. They have created a nurturing and stimulating environment where our child feels safe, supported, and genuinely excited to learn. He truly enjoys this school. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to engage young learners through play, creativity, problem-solving, and storytelling—all while immersing them in the Spanish language. It's important to note that while much of the instruction is in Spanish, the teachers use English as needed as well to ensure children understand important words, ideas, and activities. In just a short time, we’ve seen significant growth in his language development. We’re thrilled to see his joy as he explores and expresses himself in both English and Spanish. As someone who has taught in preschool settings myself and run literacy programs for preschool through early elementary, it's awesome to see Escuelita Alegría's excellent curriculum and the deep care the staff show for each child and their family. The teachers are attentive to our son’s individual needs and are always responsive, communicative, and collaborative with us as parents. Whether it's adjusting routines to support his transitions or celebrating small milestones with genuine enthusiasm, they’ve made us feel like true partners in his early education. We wholeheartedly recommend Escuelita Alegría to any family seeking a rich, engaging, and loving learning environment for their child.
My daughter's personality and knowledge have grown greatly since starting at Escuelita Alegria. She excitedly talks about her teachers and friends every day. I appreciate the option for working parents to pay for early dropoff and late pickup. On top of flexible hours, I know my kiddo will be ready for Kindergarten. I love that her confidence has grown as she develops new skills and that the teachers celebrate these wins with her.
We have been very pleased with Escuelita Alegria! The teachers are very caring and want to do the best for each student. They’ve worked hard to help our children mature and support them through emotional/developmemtal challenges. Our children are excited to go to school each day. They’ve really enjoyed the challenge of learning Spanish and enjoy coming home and teaching us what they have learned.
We love Escuelita Alegria, we are impressed with their curriculum and overall structure. Our child always comes home with a cool activity they did that day and we know the theme of the week. His Spanish is growing every week and he is always excited to see his fav teacher Miss Patty. The facilities location are also convenient next to Uprise and they are preschool perfect. Totally recommended!
My son attends Escuelita Alegría since the school opened, and there is no other place where I want him to be. The attention they provide to the children is focus on them, on what each one of them need. His fist language is Spanish, and he is so happy to help his friends learn new words, and at the same time he is learning the English he needs. They are learning a new language, improving their first one, and everyday, he tells me a lot of things about what they learned about that day. He also became more independent in his daily routines. I love this school, my son is so happy there.
Can I give them six stars? Our daughter previously attended another preschool in Columbia with large class sizes that always seemed a bit out of control. She was coming home with notes about behavior and her inability to stay focused. This seemed out of character because at home, and at church she was functioning at a high level. It became clear to us that the large class size was giving her anxiety, and she found that the only way she got attention was to act out. When we transferred to Escuelita Alegria, we saw instant change in behavior. The student:teacher ratio was drastically improved from what we experienced elsewhere, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our daughter is a hugger, and the teachers never turn her away. Every day when we pick her up after school greets us with a “Today we learned about____!” She does her best to share her Spanish with us, but the most important part is how they encourage her creativity and curiosity. Her English vocabulary has greatly increased, and they are constantly reinforcing her Spanish and she LOVES to tell us if she knows a word in Spanish. They currently use Brightwheel, and send frequent pictures throughout the day. The building is incredibly secure, with to different points of screening for parents before they entire classroom area. Escuelita Alegria has transformed our perception of early childhood education, and we couldn’t be happier!
Our 3 year old has been thriving with the attention and structure she gets at Escuelita Alegría. Her first week she came home and had written her name- a skill we did not know she was capable of. She surprises us every day! She loves the challenge to learn new things, including a new language, and we can tell she's so proud of herself. The transition to her new school was actually so smooth. She frequently asks to go to school on the weekend and doesn't want to leave when we pick her up! They do a good job of sprinkling in Spanish at a good rate for her and helping her link it up with her first language, English. We love the safety and cleanliness of her school also.
