Hi Friends, if you are looking home away home for your little one, Fox&Bear is the best place in the universe. My son and I have had an amazing journey and a fabulous experience since last year. Fox and Bear gave us very high-quality child care when we had both of our young children with them for well over a year. Olga is an example of leadership and diligence in taking care of children. She speaks many languages fluently, teaches the kids a variety of practices, and prepares them for kindergarten and beyond. Every time I dropped off or picked up our children, there was harmony in the house and it was always smooth (not the case elsewhere!). My family and I are the luckiest to have found Fox and Bear, a loving and affordable Spanish/Italian immersive play-based learning environment and pre-literacy program for children from a few months to five years of age. The primary provider, Olga, and her assistants make wonderful use of resources available locally. The children benefit from regular trips to story time at the West Berkeley library and play at surrounding playgrounds and parklets, weather permitting. All children complete regular art projects and preschoolers are guided through kindergarten-preparedness activities. The space is filled with age-specific toys and games to stimulate developmentally-appropriate exploration. The childcare is centered in a well-maintained and well-located family home. Families of the children represent a nice cross-section, in terms of economics, ethnicity, and national origin, of the Bay Area as a whole. I really appreciate the professionalism with which Olga runs her business and prioritizes the safety and emotional wellbeing of all of the children. And I love the regular photos she texts me to help me feel connected to my young children (a boy, 3.5 years, and baby girl, 5 months) throughout my workday. Olga and her staff have become trusted members of our family and it is my pleasure to offer them my strong recommendation!
