Parent Reviews
I am the proud mother of a wonderful 3-year girl. When I was initially contemplating placing her in school, I felt that she was too young but I enrolled her in a church school for a few days a week. She did very well there but yet I began to see that although the school had a good environment with a wonderful teacher, we needed to change schools due to scheduling issues. I had been somewhat familiar with the Montessori methodology for children's growth socially and intellectually and was impressed. My husband and I toured Guidepost at the Galleria twice before deciding to enroll our daughter. After the first week there, I was floored. It was if the school and teachers were able to "flip a switch" to accelerate her growth. Though she was doing well before, by tapping into her learning style, she began to apply principles of learning to practice. For example, she could count to 20, but she went from counting to 20 to learning that 20 was greater than two, that twenty was a measure of some quantity, and the like. Her sentence structure improved. Another example, she would repeat the last two words of a sentence "the car is blue" would be stated as "is blue". Now she is more likely to say, "the car is blue". She has been there slightly over a month and continues to mature beyond expectations. Her teacher, Mrs. Mercy (and her former aide Nadia), have been incredible. Despite having a larger student to teacher ratio (16-20:1) she has learned more than when she was in a 10:1 class. Mrs. Mercy is kind, understanding, and smart which lends her personality to be effective in reaching all types of students. Erin, the director of the school, has a generous and welcoming nature that is able to soothe any anxiety about the school and its program. She has helped navigate my husband and I through the process and worked with us as my husband and I have a difficult schedule at times. It has been an amazing experience thus far and I recommend it without reservation.
