Parent Reviews
We have had wonderful experiences at Home Away From Home and our children love it there! The staff is warm and welcoming and knowledgeable about caring for children. The admin genuinely care about the children and families. We have had positive experiences and would recommend to anyone looking for care!
Our kids have loved coming to daycare here. The girls absolutely adore their teachers and it’s amazing to know our kids are safe and well taken care. They’ve made so many friends and have learned so much. They do a lot of learning through song and come home singing different songs about days of the week and colors, etc. Management is super understanding and helpful. Between the administrators/management and teachers they work through hard moments with the kids in ways that make them feel cared for and supported, not shamed. I can tell that they all truly like the kids and honestly that is the most important thing for me. My kids feel supported and loved when they are there.
Home Away from Home Childcare has been an absolute blessing for my family. From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and a genuine family-like atmosphere. Everyone from the owner to each staff member goes above and beyond your typical teacher–child relationship. They truly care for the children as if they were their own. They listen to my concerns, communicate openly, and work with such patience and understanding. Any time we’ve needed to problem-solve or navigate a new stage, they’ve been right there with us, willing to find solutions together. Because of their dedication, my child continues to thrive in every area of development. I have never been happier with a childcare center than I am with Home Away from Home Childcare. The love, commitment, and support they show my daughter every single day is something I am endlessly grateful for. They truly are a “home away from home,” and I could not recommend them more highly.
We have been satisfying very happy with how home away from home child care center has been providing care to our daughter since we have put her in there. They have amazing communication able to let us know what's going on always being on top of everything making sure that our daughter is happy and well taken care of over there. We also love how interactive they are with the infant room and taking our child out to trips, doing arts and craft, walks. We're very happy that our child is at the daycare center. The staff are amazing over there.
Great! Even though it’s a center it’s very family oriented. Our son’s teacher is amazing, he gets so excited to see her every day. They are very communicative and work with us to keep him on schedule.
I mark this a 3 because I'm having a very mixed experience with the center. The toddler class was tough for my child, lots of teacher turnover, lots of disorganization and while she loved the teachers, I'm not sure they were the best fit. On the contrary, she is LOVING her preschool class - the teachers, friends, structure and feedback we get as the parents is fantastic. They're completely supportive of her potty training and have let us send her to school to do a lot of the training. I am so grateful for those teachers and that class. I also can tell my child is learning and growing each day. Stephanie and Stephen are sweet, well-intentioned directors, but I think they are busy and disorganized. And I am not sure they arm the teachers with a lot of resources and they hire very young staff. It has worked out in our favor, but I could see it being very difficult for parents of special needs children. Home Away is very accepting of them, but the teachers don't have resources or experience to support those kids. In fact, I attempted to send my older child with autism to the center for the summer and there was no schedule or structure that could support her - even though the teacher was a great young person. Because of the size of the center and limited staffing, I do think the directors are very sensitive to sicknesses (specifically hand foot and mouth) and have closed the center and/or sent children home due to possible infection. Overall, I'd recommend whoever tries this place to give it a shot - the experiences are different per class - but also make sure to set expectations.
Home away from home has been such a special place for our daughter. Everyday she is happy to be there and well taken care of.
Loved them! My child loved them as well and grew so much in his knowledge!
