My daughter has attended the Boston KinderCare since February of 2006. We have had such a wonderful experience that I continue to recommend the center to all my friends and colleagues, so many of them have attended. I first met the center director, Maureen Bird, on her first day at the center. This was also the day when they were transitioning my daughter into the preschool classroom, which was an experience that was not going well because my daughter missed her old classroom. When Ms. Maureen saw my daughter in distress and crying, she assured me to not worry; they would take their time and transition her slowly. Her words gave me relief, especially after seeing your child screaming and crying. Maureen is very experienced and wonderful at working with children on an individual basis, which made me feel such relief when I left my daughter in their care for the day. In regards to the teachers, everyone has provided excellent care to my daughter and thoroughly prepared her for Kindergarten. When she started school, she had an advantage over many of the children by already knowing sight words, the alphabet, phonics, numbers, how to write her name and socialize with other children. Her teacher commented to us that she could tell when children had attended KinderCare versus no daycare or other daycare centers. She said that children who attended KinderCare already knew how to sit, listen, behave, and they grasped new concepts quickly. Additionally, we enrolled her in KinderCare’s enrichment programs, which had been a great learning experience and a great supplement to what she was already learning. It furthered her development in math, language skills and phonics. These programs are fantastic and certainly will help your children before entering Kindergarten. My daughter continues to attend the Boston KinderCare during her school breaks and summer vacation. However, this will unfortunately be her last year. I do not know what we will do next year, as we will miss everyone so much! The teachers and staff have become not just teachers to us but family as well. I cannot say enough great things about Maureen and the teachers at the center. It has been an absolutely fantastic experience for our family. My daughter loves going there and really enjoys all the great experiences she has had there. Many thanks to Mercantile KinderCare!
