Mercy Education Project (MEP) began in 1992 as a tutoring program founded by the Sisters of Mercy in Southwest Detroit to provide after-school tutoring for economically disadvantaged girls. Over the years, MEP has continually expanded its educational programming for girls in grades 2-12 including summer camps and college and career readiness for high schoolers. As well as providing GED preparation, adult basic education, and workforce development for low-income women. MEP is a 501c3 nonprofit and all services are free of charge for our students.

Description

MEP supports girls grades 2-12 through free education, leadership development, and cultural enrichment. Girls’ programming includes one-to-one after-school tutoring in reading and math. MEP also offers a College and Career Readiness (CCR) program for 9th-12th graders and a variety of summer camps.
