Parent Reviews
Lucy and Bright Star was a gem for our son and our first experience with a daycare! He started at 9 months and from the start Lucy showed care and attention to his health, development and happiness. She would send us reassuring photos and videos as he transitioned into daycare and throughout the 2 years we’ve been with Bright Star. You can tell Lucy takes pride and joy in taking care of children by her endless patience and consistent communication with parents on any specific needs and goals, including potty training! Lucy has gone above and beyond with her care of our son. We will truly miss Lucy and Bright Star and will be forever grateful for the support and guidance during some of the most formative years of his life.
We had a wonderful journey at Bright Star with Teacher Lucy. We are so grateful for having our daughter spend her valuable toddler years there. Teacher Lucy is very collaborative and extremely easy to communicate with. She listened to our needs, partnered with us as a team, and provided recommendations to support our daughter’s well-being and development. Most importantly, she is genuinely loving and caring, which makes it a nurturing environment for all the kids there. There were various fun activities where my daughter picked up words (Mandarin, English and Cantonese!), shapes, numbers, songs, dances, drawings etc through playing. Teacher Lucy always laughs along with the kids and lets their personality shine as-is. She is calm, warm and patient. It can take months for some new kids to get used to it, and she always holds them in her arms for as long as needed to provide security to the kid. We could tell how all the kids trust her and love her, as they would hold on to her legs and pull her arms while we talk to her during our daily dropoff and pickup. It’s a lovely and warm family daycare that I definitely recommend.
Our journey with Bright Star Family Child Care, led by the wonderful Teacher Lucy, has been an enriching adventure. From age one to three, our son thrived under her care, leaving us profoundly grateful. Teacher Lucy's attention to detail and compassionate nature created a haven of safety and love. Her genuine dedication to our child's well-being and development was evident in every interaction. Beyond traditional learning, Teacher Lucy introduced our son to numbers in Chinese, Cantonese, and English, sparking his enthusiasm for languages. Equally vital were the emotional tools he gained, including empathy and independence, ensuring a holistic growth. Bright Star isn't just a daycare; it's a place of growth, friendship, and love. Our son's journey here will undoubtedly shape his path ahead in the most positive way. We're forever thankful for Lucy's role in our child's formative years.
Bright Star is a total gem— a small in-home daycare within a thoughtful environment with a loving and competent care provider. I could go on and on, but here are some highlights: - She communicates clearly and collaboratively. She genuinely cares about how I would like to raise my daughter. We have had conversations around potty training and hitting and health issues. It always feels like we are a team working together. - Lucy has a calm and warm presence. None of the frantic energy that we noticed in other daycare tours. She delights in my child's personality and growth as much as I do! - Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. - Fair pricing — when we planned to pick up our daughter a half day early each week, Lucy said she would not feel comfortable having us pay full price, even though we were willing. That’s integrity! - Flexible drop-off/pick-up (within reason) I never thought I could like and trust a care provider as much as I do Lucy. I’m sad that we are having to leave her with our upcoming move. If you have a chance to send your child to Bright Star, take it!
We don't normally post reviews, but my husband and I love Lucy's daycare so much. Please don't judge us but we are the kind of parents who research and research before deciding. We did exactly that when we needed to find a daycare for our baby earlier this year. We reached out to almost 20 different places, and physically visited more than half of those places. We ultimately decided on enrolling in Bright Star. When we met Lucy, we immediately felt her genuine warmth and love of babies and kids. The environment is very open, bright, colorful, and fun. Lucy asks thoughtful questions, and is incredibly considerate. Our baby actually had no trouble adjusting to full time daycare, and sometimes he would rather stay there when we pick him up! We get wonderful pictures of him playing and laughing. Bonus is the Mandarin/Cantonese speaking exposure and activities aimed at development. Lucy has also been a trooper in dealing with our baby's medical needs, and consistently asks us how we are doing as parents. We LOVE her and this daycare!
Thank you for your kind words Shin Yu! It has been our pleasure to care for your baby. At Bright Star, we always strive to provide quality care and build strong bonds with families. We appreciate your partnership and positive attitude towards the challenges we’ve been through. We’re looking forward to sharing many more milestones with your family and grow strong together!
I am extremely happy with Lucy's daycare. She's genuinely a loving and caring person. She's very attentive to the kids needs. She offers various activities and stimulations in Mandarin to help kids develop language skills and social skills. The environment is very positive and encouraging. My daughter has had a great experience going there. I feel comfortable leaving her under Lucy's care.
