Parent Reviews
Our disappointment with O2BA is not based on one isolated disagreement. Communication was a recurring problem throughout our child’s time there. We often felt that important questions required repeated follow-up and that concerns were not addressed clearly or promptly. Over time, this made it difficult to feel confident that we were being kept properly informed. The most serious example occurred when O2BA did not get our child off the school bus even though he was scheduled to attend and the center knew he was expected. He was ultimately taken back to his school. We learned what had happened from the school district—not from O2BA—and incurred a fee as a result. For a child-care provider, we found both the missed pickup and the failure to notify us extremely concerning. Their billing practices were another source of confusion. In our experience, charges and policies were not applied consistently or communicated clearly. For example, late fees were added to our account more than a month after the period to which they supposedly related, rather than appearing when the alleged late payments occurred. This made it difficult to understand our balance or know whether an account statement was actually final. Families should be able to expect billing practices that are clear, timely, and consistently applied. The owner’s handling of our concerns was especially troubling. We found her lack of professionalism deeply disappointing, particularly when we were attempting to address serious concerns involving the center. We understand that no child-care center is perfect and that other families may have had different experiences. This review reflects our family’s experience. Unfortunately, the ongoing communication problems, the missed bus pickup, the failure to notify us, the unclear billing practices, and the owner’s response ultimately destroyed our trust in the center. Based on those experiences, we would not recommend O2BA.
My 2 yr old daughter has been going to O2BA Kid for just under a year and a half, and it’s a great place. The staff is friendly in all the different levels, and my girl had learned a LOT. The staff cares and it shows. Everyday when I pick her up, she has to go say good bye to her original baby room and to the office on the way out. I trust them there, and that’s what matters.
We've sent our three kids there, with the oldest starting 9 years ago, and have been very happy with the safety, friendliness, and structured...but not too structured...environment. Several of the room leaders have been there 10+ years. I've always felt safe dropping my kids off there.
My son went to O2BA Kid starting in the infant room in the summer of 2012 until he started kindergarten in the fall of 2016, and then he also went back to the school-age program for the summers of 2017-19. after that. The core group of teachers were the same throughout. They provided great care and attention. Communication with staff was always easy. My son always had a great time and he always looked forward to going. He made friends there that we still have playdates with whenever we can. He really learned a lot during his pre-school year there, and he was well prepared for kindergarten. I always felt that we were so lucky to get a spot for him there. As a working mom, I felt very secure with him at O2BA Kid.
Both of my children attended O2baKid from 10 weeks old to the start of kindergarten. The owner and staff are both caring and professional. I could not have asked for a better daycare or preschool. The entire staff is wonderful! I cannot thank them enough!
