In pursuit of educational equity, Open Door Preschools nurtures and inspires young children of diverse abilities, circumstances, and backgrounds in a child-led, play-based environment. Open Door Preschool’s story began 50 years ago when an Austin family searched in vain for a school to accept both of their children–one typically developing and another with Down Syndrome. But the doors were all closed. So they created their own school, a place where the doors would always be open. Since then, we have served more than 4,000 children and their families.
