Parent Reviews
Panoramic Learning Academy is such a special place and I count myself lucky to have found Renee and her staff! Not only will your child be well-cared for and fed homemade meals, but they are lovingly taught social skills, every day living skills, academics and yes, potty training when your little one is ready! They have a different theme every week for what they learn and take weekly adventures. I honestly couldn’t ask for more.
Panoramic Learning Academy is abundant with thoughtful activities and consistent structure necessary for children below the age of 5 to be delighted by life and well prepared for kindergarten. What our child loved the most at PLA were Miss Renee’s yummy lunches, cooking projects, getting in the wagon for activities in the neighborhood, and Miss Renee herself and her helpers Nina, Aunty Wey, and Phil. I felt Miss Renee to be incredibly caring when some developmental milestones got challenging. The most outstanding element about PLA is the community. PLA invites past students to their gatherings, and many come! It’s tremendously heartwarming to see the connection between former students and PLA continuing. Miss Renee and the folks at PLA are in an elite category of warm, welcoming, caring, and firm child educators—we are so blessed and grateful to have spent time there.
After unsuccessfully trying a nanny-share and another daycare for our 2-year old, we found Panoramic Learning Academy (PLĀ) and have found our place! We absolutely love Ms. Renee and Nina. They lead the small group of children in circle time, discuss their feelings and day experiences, eat healthy meals, get lots of play time outside and learn so much! Ms. Renee is nurturing yet firm and is simply magical. Everything we were looking for in a childcare setting, we found in PLĀ.
Our daughter has absolutely loved her time with Miss Renee at PLA! The staff go above and beyond to create a loving, supportive, and educational environment for the children and to build community among the parents. Miss Renee has been a major support to us, helping address and find solutions for challenges we've faced with behavior and nap time and helped with potty training support. We've been so impressed with the strides our child has made academically as well, even though the program is play focused. Her counting and verbal skills have been increasing exponentially and Miss Renee also reinforces conscientiousness and manners. I toured over a dozen daycare/preschool options and none of them gave me the same impression Miss Renee and Auntie Way did the day I met them, that they would appreciate the unique person my child is and love them. Our child loves going to school and loves Miss Renee, and so do we!
Panoramic Learning Academy is a magical school for young children. We now live in Atlanta, GA and have been away from Renee and PLA for over a year, and we still yearn for the community, care, and learning that our child received at PLA. Renee is one of the most generous, kind, and gifted educators I have ever encountered. Perhaps the most impressive thing about her is the way she builds her students' characters, teaching them to be kind and thoughtful. She values experiential and play-based learning and strives to engage her students in their community by going to the farmer's market weekly, taking daily walks to local parks, exploring the natural world, and cooking. Finally, joining PLA is truly like joining a supportive extended family. When I was pregnant with my second child away from family, Renee and a mom of another child in my oldest's daycare class volunteered to look after our oldest when I gave birth. This is a truly is a special place and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A year ago we moved to USA with two kids, the older was 3 y/o, she did not know any English and was very shy and with no confidence to associate with the kids because of language barrier. When I first took her to Ms. Renee's preschool she fell in love with the place and the atmosphere! she asked me to go there everyday! We were worried she'll be frustrated about not communicating, and then on the first day I received photos and videos of her dancing with all the kids (international language!) and first words that she learned every day! after 3 months she was fluent in English, confident and independent! this is because PLA is not only a place where you drop your kids to spend the day, but rather a place where the kids learn how to get by in the real world! Renee and Phil (aka Professor Snook) take each kid as a project to develop their skills and strengths with an individual tailor-made approach, every kid learns to read and write in his/her own pace, they encourage curiosity, teach the kids to be independent- kids set the tables them selves, cook the food together and clean together. My daughter is coming home from school and tells me about science projects, shows me art works and every Friday they have show and tell, seeing my 3 y/o going from not knowing a word in English to "show and tell" for the whole class made me so proud! And the other kids sit patiently and listen even if the "new girls" has a hard time, they learn to respect their peers, they learn to care for each other! I'm proud of myself as a parent that I had good instinct to notice how special this place is the second I entered the classroom, and knowing this is the best education and care I can give my child. And don't even get me started about the food!!! my daughter requested more spinach and broccoli for dinner!!! just like Ms. Renee makes :)
We’ve had an incredible experience at PLĀ. Our 4 YO has attended for a year and has blossomed in this caring and intimate environment. The academic director, Renée McGhee, has been very impactful with her individualized approach to educating our kiddo. Her observations are always spot-on, and it is obvious how much she cares for each child as if they were her own. She has developed a lovely community that we are so fortunate to be part of. We love the periodic family gatherings, and must highlight the adorable graduation we attended for the last “class.” Also, the kiddos love her - my daughter even slips and calls me Ms. Renée, which speaks volumes. Lastly, the homemade breakfast and lunch, plus snacks, is an extra perk that is an absolute game changer for busy parents. Highly recommend.
