Description provided by the business. We offer a variety of educational and developmentally appropriate programs for toddlers and preschoolers. Our curriculum centers on the whole child through creating a balance of both guided exploration and learning through play. We are inspired and influenced by leading Early Childhood philosophies to create a diverse, layered, and meaningful opportunity to engage in learning across all disciplines. Drawing on the practices of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, play-based learning, and the developmental continuum, our philosophy creates opportunities to stretch, but not stress, the young learner.

Parent Reviews
we love peekadoodle! our children love the warm, tight-knit environment and beautiful facility. drop offs have been a smooth transition from day 1 because the teachers and staff are so lovely. we've had several major household transitions in our time there (a move, nanny changes, welcoming a new baby) and peekadoodle has provided warmth, consistency and flexibility for our family. because it's a smaller environment, I feel they know our children as unique individuals more than you might see in some of the larger programs we considered. my children have learned an impressive amount and i'm always thrilled when my four year old comes home proudly telling me about his day, talking about authors they're reading in class, number recognition, and science projects. We also love the parent community full of engaged and welcoming families.
My son began his educational journey at Peekadoodle Prep Class in Fall 2023 when he was just 20 months old, and it has been a phenomenal experience! He absolutely loved every moment. Over the past year, he made wonderful friends and his language skills have blossomed. By the time he turned 3, he was counting to ten, naming shapes, and developing a deep love for reading. The teachers and staff at Peekadoodle Prep are incredibly supportive and genuinely care about each student’s growth and development. I also appreciate receiving regular photos from his Prep day, which allow me to see all the engaging activities he participates in. These experiences are something I couldn’t provide at home or through a nanny. In short, Peekadoodle Prep Class offers a unique and exceptional experience that stands out in the city. I couldn’t be happier with the care and education my son recieved.
I can't recommend Peekadoodle enough. The teachers and staff are incredible - they love each and every kid like their own and are amazing at highlighting each child's strengths and abilities. The director, Stef, is FABULOUS - she makes running a preschool look seamless. She is very aware and on top of how each kid is doing in class, while also being incredibly involved with the parents and offering unlimited support to the parent community. There have been some tough mornings for me where at least one kid decides to just lose it and I can't express how amazing peekadoodle staff is at drop off. There's an instant feeling of support and sometimes even a follow up text to let me know my kid(s) was totally fine once she got to school and even checking in on me to make sure I'm feeling better. My children are very different - socially, academically, etc. Peekadoodle really is amazing at creating a curriculum and program that works for every child, nurturing each child's abilities and strengths. The parent community is also amazing - I have made lifelong friendships with many of the parents. Stef is also unbelievably helpful during the kindergarten process. Every year each kid gets into at least their top 2 choice. Stef helps each family during the entire process - she's knowledgeable abt all the schools (and where might be a good fit for your child) and helps with all the applications. One of my children has one year left and the other has two or three years, and I'm already sad knowing we can't stay at Peekadoodle forever!
Peekadoodle is a nurturing and supportive environment not only for your child's early education journey but also for you as a parent navigating the Bay Area preschool world. As a transplant to the city, I can confidently say that Peekadoodle has embraced my family in the most incredible way. The staff and the parent community have made us feel right at home from day one. My son started in the prep class just before his second birthday, and the progress he has made is astounding. We just ended his year in the 3's with a class performance that blew us away! To be able to watch how independent he is within the walls of Peekadoodle is incredible. The teachers and administrative team have created a warm, professional, and joyful atmosphere that has allowed my son to flourish. I can't wait to see my son thrive in the 4's class next fall. If you're seeking a place where your child can have fun, learn, and grow in independence and confidence, Peekadoodle is the perfect balance.
Our daughter has gone through a notable transformation during her first year at Peekadoodle. After early toddlerhood distorted by Covid isolation, she's embraced the loving community that has encouraged her to express herself. During her time at Peekadoodle, her verbal and comprehension skills have improved markedly, as well as her confidence, independence, and curiosity about the world. She truly feels like everyone at school is her extended family, and loves greeting them at drop-off every morning. Every day she excitedly asks, "Peekadoodle today?"; it's one of the biggest constants that keeps her smiling. As a parent, I am so appreciative of the school's friendly, down-to-earth attitude, flexibility, and impressive way everyone knows what's going on with your child at any given moment. As a city-dwelling parent, Peekadoodle's beautiful, spacious outdoor play area helps me feel a lot less guilty about our home's lack thereof. I feel good knowing my daughter is getting lots of outdoor time complete with sensory, social, and gross motor experiences every day. Also of enormous value is how on-top-of the ever-evolving Covid situation they are. Surely a daunting thing to tackle at a preschool, they handle every protocol and communication with swift and graceful efficiency. I'm so thrilled that we found Peekadoodle; it's truly had such a positive impact on our whole family.
There are simply not enough words to describe just how much Peekadoodle has meant to our family. My older son was transitioning to school after my being a stay-at-home parent. He was very anxious and slow to warm to new people and environments. Peekadoodle was perfect because they had the play club where we could just go and play so he could get used to the space. Then, they offered parent-child classes. We took them all and he loved them. Then, as he became increasingly comfortable, he attended a few classes on his own. Then, he attended Prep, which was perfect. It was just a couple mornings a week and the teachers were so loving and supportive. By the time he started Academy, he was a pro - totally comfortable with the environment, the staff, and the teachers. Every single teacher and staff member was warm, welcoming, and enormously patient. They were instrumental in our identifying his anxiety and sensory issues early on so that we were able to get him the support he needed as early as possible. He's now almost nine and waxes nostalgic about his many years at Peekadoodle. When my second son was born, there was no doubt where he would attend. While, his personality is totally different than his big brother, Peekadoodle is just as amazing. He is very outgoing, confident, and independent. From day one, he barely said goodbye because he was already running for the door. Unfortunately for the world, Covid emerged during his second year. Peekadoodle turned on a dime. They made distance learning as fun as possible for a preschooler. I will never forget Ms. Linda's hysterical videos for music class. I laughed so hard I cried and still watch them occasionally when I need a pick me up. When it was safe to return to school, Peekadoodle was ahead of the curve. The protocols and safety measures they put in place allowed the parents to feel confident that our children would be safe and still receive the fun, hands-on, creative, joyous education they've always provided. My son adjusted beautifully and rolled right along, with a mask and the kind of hand-washing skills that will serve him forever. As a mom, Peekadoodle has been a home away from home where I could bring my newborn and comfortably breast-feed him, an office where I could get some work done, a spot to grab the best tuna-salad sandwiches ever, and a place to chat and talk with staff, teachers and other parents. Peekadoodle has been endlessly supportive through a divorce, my choice to have a second baby alone, and may other ups and downs. They are family and always will be.
Our daughters have attended both Prep and Academy over the course of the last four years. Peekadoodle is a truly magical place and we are incredibly grateful to be a part of the community. From the curriculum to communications, the teachers + staff connect with the students and nurture their respective strengths and needs. The school has played a pivotal role (outside of the home!) in helping to shape our girls into kind, empathetic, curious, and independent children. With our oldest graduating Oswald (pre-K) this year, we have also seen how Peekadoodle goes above and beyond in preparing children for Kindergarten and guides parents through the process.
My daughter attends preschool at Peekadoodle and loves it. She's almost 2.5 and currently in the Gabby class. The short morning program is the perfect amount of time for her at this age. The teachers are very warm and nurturing and attentive to her individual needs. I get daily updates on the days she attends preschool which help me talk to her about her day and know what she ate, when she went to the bathroom, etc. I think the program is also the right mix of education and play as most of activities are meant to teach the kid something (without them even realizing they are learning something new). My daughter now asks for preschool on the days she doesn't have it which is a sign to me that she's really enjoying it and being treated well.
