Parent Reviews
Both of our sons joined Primrose this past summer, and we could not be happier with their experience so far. They look forward to "going to school" each day, and we're amazed with how much they are learning.
Bessie's Hope is a local nonprofit that works to enhance the quality of life for elders living in long-term care and to bring generations together in mutually rewarding relationships. There are so many elders living in long-term care who have no visitors. With the help of schools and youth groups, like Primrose of Westwood, the Bessie's Hope Youth and Elders program brings groups of young people into visit with groups of elders. The elders absolutely thrive when the kids enter the room. The burst of energy the young people bring is invaluable medicine for the seniors. It is especially wonderful to have youth as young as the preschool group from Primrose visit. While elders love meeting new people and having visitors of all ages, there is something about the very small children that makes these visits even more special. I hear residents of Springwood assisted living comment on their many years teaching small children, raising their own or even what it was like when they were that age. The memories the youth trigger and unlock are amazing and it is so healthy for the elders to remember those times. I think many people would be surprised and very impressed to see the Primrose preschoolers during these visits. Some might assume that this age is too young to bring into a long-term care facility. In fact they are perfect. They go right up to the elders and introduce themselves. Even the shy youth often end up feeling very comfortable because the elders make them feel at home. They love to hold their hands and listen to anything the young ones have to say. The elders are truly amazed and thrilled just by the presence of the preschoolers. We play games, sing and laugh. The visits from the preschoolers is the best medicine for a lonely leader who may not have any family who comes to see them. Each young person is a treasure that the elders adore. We are so glad to be working with the wonderful teachers and youth from Primrose and we hope to continue this partnership into the distant future!
We have been a Primrose West Woods family for over 3 years. Our daughter attended preK and kindergarten. Our son is now in preK and we look forward to having him attend Mrs. Capritta's kindergarten class as well. The owners and staff are FANTASTIC! They provide a safe, caring, and creative environment for all children to develop and learn. I highly recommend this school. It has been a blessing for our family.
