Parent Reviews
My husband and I recently moved and left the Raleigh area, and the thing we miss most about that area is the Knowledge Beginnings preschool. My daughter had not transitioned very well in previous daycares, so I had decided to keep her home with me. Then my husband told me about Knowledge Beginnings and set up an appointment for us to tour it. We had no Cons on our list after meeting with Ms. Jaime and Ms. Cassandra. Both of them played with our daughter, and for the first time, our daughter felt at home. Both Jaime and Cassandra are genuinely caring and are naturals with children, which is surprisingly not found at some preschools. You can tell they enjoy both their jobs and aren't just passing the time to get a paycheck. When Ms. Cassandra was not there, our daughter loved being with Ms. Hope in the mornings and then Ms. Janna in the afternoons. And what a find with Ms. Anneke! We had met over a dozen Directors at different preschools, and Ms. Anneke is the only one who possesses the talent of balancing rules with a maternal personality. Most other Directors are either too harsh and impolite with how they remind parents and kids of daycare rules, or they tend to be lax about them when a parent is present. Anneke does a wonderful job of maintaining the safety of the children while gently educating parents and children alike on the importance of it. We admire her for being able to do this. The facility is kept clean, and every time we were there, the teachers looked hard at work to keep it that way. We wish there were more preschools like the Knowledge Beginnings in Raleigh! Please find a way to thank them for what they do and let them know that we think highly of them.
Alex started school at Knowledge Beginnings when he was two years old. He didn't speak English at all. Initially he was very shy and didn't understand much, but wanted to learn. The teachers were caring and helped him a lot to be comfortable in an English speaking environment. He absorbed as much information as he could. Later on, he started saying a few words in English and a few months later he said simple sentences. I was very proud of him when he greeted his teachers, and Ms Anneke in English or when I heard him talk to his friends in English. We enrolled him to Phonics class, which gave him an additional boost to his language learning experience. We found Kindermusik useful too. Learning the language through music is an excellent way to speed up the learning process. We got to the point when Alex corrects me when I do not pronounce a word properly in English. I do not think I would have been able to teach Alex English without the help of the teachers at Knowledge Beginnings and I am grateful for the positive experience he received there forever.
My family has been a member of the Knowledge Beginning community since 2011. My son started there in the preschool classroom. Transferring from KinderCare we were familiar with the curriculum which made for an easy transition. Our experience at Knowledge Beginnings has been absolutely wonderful. The teachers and staff have nurtured and challenged my son academically and socially. He has been exposed to a variety of creative and engaging learning activities. Both he and I are greeted each day by the administrative staff. They know us by name. The teachers and the administrative staff have shown a genuine interest in my family’s well being. The facility is well-maintained and conducive to a learning atmosphere. The extra activities that they offer are well designed and beneficial. My son has participated in Active Adventures, Phonics and Music. He is leaving Knowledge Beginnings to enter Elementary school ready to meet to the academic, social and behavioral expectations. We will miss our Knowledge Beginnings’ family.
