Parent Reviews
My family has had the privilege of knowing and working with her for the past 3 years, and during that time she has provided exceptional care for my child. Nancy is dependable, patient, nurturing, and truly dedicated to the children in her care. I always felt confident leaving my child knowing they were safe, supported, and cared for in a positive environment. She consistently encouraged learning, creativity, and kindness while maintaining excellent communication with parents. One thing that stood out was before my child was even in her care, she spent at least an hour on the phone with me talking me through choosing care for my child, what was important for our family and what that could look like. She gave me great advice and brought up things I had never even thought of. As a first-time mom without family in the area, she was such a blessing in supporting me as well as my child. She always goes above and beyond, whether it be getting gifts and throwing parties for the children out of the kindness of her heart or just calling on a weekend to check in on us. This level of care and professionalism made a lasting impression on our family. I highly recommend Nancy to any family seeking a trustworthy and compassionate child care provider. She would be a valuable asset to any child care setting or family. Lacie Herrin
Our daughter started going to Nancy's when she was 1 years old and was there for 2 years and then back again after Preschool. The kids in Nancy's care are like siblings to our daughter. During COVID when were not comfortable to take her places, we knew she was get the love, care, and social interactions while at Nancy's. She cares for each individual and each family with every ounce of integrity, respect, and love. She is a clear communicator, a gift to each child and family. Nancy was an integral part of our daughter's success in Preschool. She upholds state and licensing standards to ensure the safety of each child. The skills she learned at Nancy's prepared her for preschool. Nancy was also the only who our daughter let do her hair :) We are forever grateful for her. My husband and I joke that we would have more kids just so they could be in Nancy's care!
Our son started going to Nancy's at 8m old and was there until we had to temporarily move out of state when he was 5yo. Even now on holiday/school breaks when we visit Austin we will take him back to Nancy's for care so that he can reconnect with his friends (practically siblings) who he grew up with at her house. We loved the mixed age groups she has in her care and her home is truly an extension of our family. She goes above just child care by not only caring for each unique child but also including the whole family in potty training transitions, skills development, and all the changes kids and families go through in those early years. Nancy is a clear communicator, a loving childcare provider, and a genuinely kind human. We are lucky to have her in our life.
I cannot speak highly enough about Ms. Nancy and the childcare she provides. My son started with Ms. Nancy full-time when he was 3 months old, he is now 8 years old and we still come back over our summer breaks and occasionally winter holidays. She provides a safe, caring and nurturing environment that has allowed my son to grow over the years. Activities are engaging and creative with lots of outdoor adventures. She provides healthy meals and snacks, making every kid feel special by giving dedicated attention to their needs. She communicates regularly, giving updates, pictures and going above and beyond daily. I highly recommend Ms. Nancy to anyone seeking top-quality care!
I can't recommend Miss Nancy enough! We placed my son Sam in her care at 16 months of age. Due to covid restrictions, he'd had very little interaction with anyone other than his parents. Sam was nervous around strangers, but quickly took to Ms. Nancy's loving care. She gave him extra snuggles when needed, kept his nervous parents updated with photos, and Sam soon left his parents with ease. We have loved seeing our son grow during his time with Ms. Nancy. He learned SO many new words (our favorite is "please"), developed a love of books (previously he would just tear them up), and became comfortable with fellow daycare kids. Ms. Nancy goes above and beyond to help her students and their families. She has years of experience, and as new parents we have found her advice to be INCREDIBLY valuable. I highly recommend you utilize Ms. Nancy's daycare services. She has been so wonderful for our son and our family.
If you’re concerned about your baby’s very first time in child care like I was, Russell In-Home Childcare is the perfect place to ease your nerves. We started sending our 11 month old (now 2.5 years old) daughter to Nancy when we moved to Austin about a year and a half ago. Nancy made it such a smooth transition for our little one and also for us worrisome parents. As a first time mother, there were a lot of things I was completely clueless about. Nancy took me by the hand and showed me step-by-step what to feed baby, how to help baby sleep through the night, how to potty train, etc. She’s literally a miracle worker, and I honestly could not be as good of a mother as I am today without Nancy. She sends us pictures almost daily, gives reports on milestones or issues going on, and actually cares for each and every one of the kids. Nancy goes above and beyond. She buys gifts for the kids’ birthdays/on holidays completely out of her pocket. She even threw me a surprise baby shower when I became pregnant with our second child. When you enroll in Russell Childcare, you really become part of a family. Thanks Nancy for all you do!
