Russian Hill School has been an amazing environment for both of our girls. Our older daughter graduated in 2017 and our younger is currently in TK with RHS. Both girls flourished in the creative and engaging environment. Even more importantly, when faced with the challenges of a pandemic, the school carefully and thoughtfully created a program that has allowed the children an opportunity to continue having fun, learning and growing in person while being incredibly safe. We love RHS!

I feel so grateful to the Russian Hill School community for the support, care, and learning that the teachers and administration show not only for the families that have chosen to send their children back into onsite school, but RHS has been able to include the children for whom onsite learning isn't possible at this time through online instruction. My 4y/o enjoys the "trail weeks" tromping through the Presidio, discovering places I've only heard about. While during "classroom weeks" she gets to work on the cherished projects that prepare her for Kindergarten. I attended this school many moons ago when it was located in Russian Hill district, I sent my son there a few years ago, and now my daughter attends. I've made many connections and parent friendships throughout the years. It's nice to make that connection.

Russian Hill School has done an awesome job responding to COVID. While many preschools in the City remained closed, Russian Hill School offered online and Zoom options that actually worked for preschoolers (including yoga and music) and RHS also got kids safely back to school in person in early June of 2020. The kids are in small cohorts (or pods) of 6 or fewer children with at least 1 lead teacher (plus a support teacher) and they rotate between the indoor and outdoor classrooms. This is the best of both worlds because my son has been out exploring the Presidio and learning about nature and science one week and then creating awesome art projects in the classroom the next. My son has loved his three years at RHS (including in the TK program) and the super small student-teacher ratio has really helped him develop. His teachers know him really well and are kind, caring and nurturing. We love RHS and are excited to send our younger child there too.

We love Russian Hill School and it is such an amazing place for my daughter to grow. The teacher / student ratio is amazing and the arts based curriculum is so engaging.  It is so impressive how much they learn and how much fun they have doing it. The teachers are caring, incredibly creative, and engaging. My daughter looks forward to going everyday, and always has so much to talk about school afterwards. The children learn all about art, nature, music, different cultures, as well as getting a strong foundation in letters and numbers. The parent community is also very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend Russian Hill School. This preschool has everything a parent wants for their child.
