Our family has been part of the Self Development Preschool community for almost six years now, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. When you’ve been with a school for that long, you really get to see the heart they put into their programs. The leadership starts with Dr. Majeed and Ms. Vernnetta, who run the school with such care and ensure that every single child feels loved and seen. My kids have truly loved all of their teachers—from Ms. Cynthia, Ms. Amber, and Ms. Crystal, Ms. Mia, Ms. Brandi, Ms. Terri, Ms. Mickey, to Ms. Liz—the list of incredible staff members just goes on and on. What makes this place special is that they truly are all educators. Beyond the care they provide, they are dedicated to helping the children learn and grow every day. After attending this preschool and the summer program, my kids are always prepared to succeed with the Self Development Academy advanced curriculum. The kids are currently buzzing with excitement for the summer program! They love for the coloring contests and the trips to the swimming pool. A huge highlight is also Mr. Wilcoxen, who comes over during the summer and does the absolute best science experiments; the kids look forward to it every year. The staff has truly become like family to us. If you are looking for a place where your children will be excited to go every morning and where they will be supported both emotionally and academically, this is it.

We have been part of the Self Development Preschool family for the past 5 years with our 3 children, and we are grateful for the experience. Not only have our children learned so much, but they are showing confidence, curiosity, and a strong academic foundation that truly sets them apart. The low staff turnover creates a consistent, nurturing environment where my children feel safe, supported, and valued. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your children are surrounded by educators who truly care about their well-being and growth. Our oldest made a seamless transition from the preschool to the K–8 charter school next door, which speaks volumes about the strong preparation they receive. We have also loved the added convenience of before and after-school care, as well as the fun, enriching summer camp offered for school-age children. As a working parent, I can’t express enough how much I appreciate the ability to drop off and pick up all of my children at one location. The consistency, affordability, and high-quality care provided year-round have been invaluable to our family. We feel so fortunate to be part of this community and would recommend Self Development Preschool to anyone looking for a loving, educational, and dependable place for their children to grow.

This preschool is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel how inviting, clean, and thoughtfully designed the environment is. the learning experiences are enriching and engaging, and the teachers are incredibly loving and attentive. most importantly, my children loved this school and had such a positive experience here. even now, they still enjoy visiting to say hi to the long-lasting staff who made such an impact on them. we are so grateful for the care, consistency, and love this preschool provides. My son attended Self-Development Preschool, and we had an amazing experience from start to finish. What stood out the most was the incredible variety of hands-on learning they offer—art, cooking, STEM activities—all the things that truly kept him excited about school every day. I also really valued that so many of the teachers and staff have been there long-term. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it shows in how they work with the kids. The environment always felt warm, stable, and caring. One of the biggest benefits for our family was how smoothly my son transitioned from the preschool into the charter school next door. Self-Development Academy is one of the highest-ranked charter schools in Arizona, and sometimes in the entire U.S., so having that direct pathway was a huge plus. He was more than ready academically and socially. Overall, I’m really grateful for our experience here.
