We offer a rich, hands-on curriculum that includes E-STEM, reading, language, art, and geography, emphasizing self-directed, experiential learning. Children are encouraged to develop at their own individual pace within a thoughtfully balanced environment that supports both quiet focus and active exploration. In addition to sensorial and language work, students engage in practical life activities designed to foster independence, confidence, and responsibility. Description
At Sonnet we take advantage of sunshine filled days and warm weather to allow children to enjoy and explore the outdoors by visiting the playground and the neighboring park, taking hikes, exploring the woods and even bringing our Montessori work outdoors! We also create a fun-filled summer by exploring themes carefully selected to be both fun, educational and encourage creative thinking. Themes are introduced throughout the day in both group presentations and individual exploration opportunities. Each two or three week session features hands on activities or experiments, projects, artwork, and field trips or in house workshops. Every Friday, weather permitting, is “water day” at Sonnet Montessori! Bring an extra change of clothes for your child as they will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities using water.

Wonderful, high-end Montessori style daycare in Waukee. We moved our son here from New Creations. Teachers are great, classroom ratios are great and actually adhered to, and the curriculum contributes positively towards his development (instead of watching baby shark on an iPad, etc 😊).
My son thrives in a Montessori environment, and Sonnet was a great choice for our family. We love the staff, and the facility is beautiful. We look forward to watching our son grow there.
