Parent Reviews
My 3 kids went through Sun Flower Daycare all at different times. One PreCovid, another during covid, and now post covid. Kris has been the ideal bridge from infant to preschool. She teaches them cantonese and mandarin and my kids and I are truly thankful for her. She has expanded and have additional helpers with the little ones so my youngest gets a great feel of what future school will be like. They all sit like family style for lunch and definitely creates a great environment for kids. If you are looking for someone trusted and proven, do not hesitate on this program. Side note, she also did a great job assisting with potty training for my older children!
Our son Ollie was at Sun Flower Daycare from when he was 9 months old to 4 years old. From our initial visit and over the course of our 3+ years with the program, Kris made us feel comfortable with her positive interactions with the children in her care as well as her own son, sent us daily photos so that we could get an idea of how Ollie spent his day, and communicated on a regular basis with us. Ollie was safe, happy, engaged, and learned Cantonese! Although we are no longer at the daycare, Ollie still sings songs he had learned during his time there and we keep in touch with Kris. We would highly recommend this daycare to anyone seeking childcare in the city.
My daughter spent about a year staring at 18 mo at Sun Flower. We continue to see the benefits reflected by her from those time even today at 4 years old. Kris and her mother in law are truly pros at childcare. The facility is very tidy and clean. The food served is nutritional. It's very open and fun focus program, while making sure the kids learn the basics of life at the same time. When we started attending Sun Flower, my daughter hates walking, doesn't have any interest eating solid food, and doesn't even talk much. Kris noticed those area of concerns and worked with my daughter very diligently. We started seeing her make progress slowly. Everything improved over time, and by the end of our attendance, my daughter loves running, eating, and became an awesome socialite. I'd recommended Sun Flower as your childcare.
Kris is a very kind teacher. My daughter went from being afraid to go to school to slowly loving this place. At first, I was worried that she wouldn’t sleep, but they did an amazing job at putting them to sleep. This school provides a great variety of foods to the children and my daughter eats a lot (since she enjoys it). She loves playing games with the teachers and even learned to help the teacher fold blankets. I am proud of her. She really misses her classmates and frequently mentions her teacher’s and classmate’s names at home.
If you're looking for an amazing daycare, look no further! We looked at 6 or 7 places before we decided on Sun Flower, and are so happy we did! Our son has been there since he was 7 months old (he's now 2 years old) and has been thriving there. Kris and her mother-in-law, Ling, are fantastic caregivers and have created a warm and loving environment in their home. As first time parents, they have helped us through many developmental milestones, including teething, walking, talking, counting, reading letters, socializing with other kids, and many more! We also appreciate the reasonable COVID/infection precautions they take to prevent any outbreaks. The facilities are cleaned and disinfected daily, the adults are all vaccinated and wear masks during the day, and families are required to COVID test upon return from travel. My son looks forward to going to daycare here every day and has been learning and growing so much here!
My son has been at Sun Flower Day Care for the past 3 years since he was 4 months old. I cannot say enough about this home day care. The owner Kris has become like family to us. Kris and the teachers truly love and care for all the kids. I'm a first time parent and was nervous about being away from my son when I went back to work. I quickly could see that Kris is incredibly detail oriented in every way from the cleanliness of the home and the unique care that she gives to each individual child based on their emotional and physical needs. When my son was a newborn, he had reflux and had a hard time feeding. I had a lot of anxiety around this, but Kris is a pro with babies and was able to work through the reflux. She also provided a nice report every day that showed the time he fed and the amount which was a huge relief. Over the years I have seen my son thrive as Kris is always looking for ways to challenge him developmentally and has encouraged us to do the same at home. Kris advised us through many transitions from bottle to sippy cup, transitioning from crawling to walking using the walker and helped us to potty train him! I am so thankful to have found Sun Flower Day Care and I would recommend this day care to any parent. Happy to answer any questions. :)
