Our family loves sunshine house!!! Our son has been attending Sunshine House for almost two years, and we couldn’t be more grateful for our experience. Like many parents, we were nervous about entrusting someone else with our child’s care, but choosing Sunshine House was the best decision we could have made. Our once shy and timid boy has blossomed into a confident, social, and intelligent child. As he prepares for kindergarten, we are amazed by the incredible impact Sunshine House has had on his growth. The educational aspect of the school is phenomenal—he has learned to write his name, match and compare different shapes, and express himself creatively through artwork. Every day, he eagerly shares his latest creations and tells us all about what he has learned. Beyond academics, he has made wonderful friends and truly enjoys going to school. The teachers maintain excellent communication, and the school is always clean, well-organized, and filled with engaging activities. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Sunshine House! It’s not often that you hear a child say they can’t wait to go to school, but our son does—and that speaks volumes. We’re already looking forward to enrolling our daughter when she’s old enough.

28+ years ago I started my educational journey at Sunshine House in Oakley. I have the fondest memories of going to pre-school there, and still remember so many songs, activities and fun days we celebrated together. When I had children of my own, and moved back to the Bay Area, the ONLY option for me when considering pre-schools for my son was Sunshine House. We currently live in Brentwood and drive over to Oakley 3x a week just for my son to experience this school and its great teacher team. Our favorite things currently that we look forward to every week: texted photo updates, weekly emails and music class! The teachers send picture updates every week via text so my partner and I get insights into our son's activities and what activities he's having fun with this week. Definitely comes in handy when he comes home and we ask, "what did you do at school today?" --We can avoid the "Uh, I don't remember..." conversation altogether! Sunshine House sends out weekly curriculums so we can prepare our son for next week's activities and points of learning. And when he comes home raving about a book they read at Circle Time, I can easily find the title of the book they read listed in the curriculum and we can pick the book up at the library to read again at home. And while the school does incorporate a lot of music, art and movement into their regular curriculum, they do often provide opportunities for EXTRA art, music, and physical activities for you to sign your children up for. Our son looks forward to Thursdays, especially, for music class! The school is very clean, they provide healthy breakfast & snacks, they conduct emotional & educational milestone check-ins, and we can confidently say our son is set up for success for Kindergarten next Fall! (Even though I'm personally not mentally prepared for that...) We can't wait for our daughter to be ready to start at Sunshine House with our son next year! 100/10 We do recommend Sunshine House Oakley for others. Whether it's for "day care", "pre-school", or "TK", Sunshine House is a magnificent & well-rounded school that will set your child(ren) up for success!

I wish I could rate more than 5 stars. Our son gets so excited and practically runs out of our front door when he knows it’s a school day. The staff is welcoming every single morning and we are so thankful for the open communication between us throughout the day. We know he is at a place where there is patience and kindness and amazing values. Our son is a very curious 3 year old and is quite passionate when it comes to doing things he wants to do and it means the world to us that we are sending him where is gaining a variety of skills, is comfortable, and is thriving. He loves to come home and tell us how much fun he had with all his teachers and friends. Like all families, we want to send our kids somewhere we trust and this is that school for us. They truly want the best for the kids and their development.

Our son loves to go to Sunshine House Oakley. He’s very excited to go to school every morning to learn new things and play with his friends. When I pick him up, he enthusiastically tells stories of what he did for the day and even sings the songs that he learned. We, the parents, love it that we are informed of what they are doing by sending us pictures and calling us to check in. The teachers are amazing, very patient and caring to our child. They are friendly and always give those big smiles when they greet you as you open the door. We like it that the program have a structured learning and is very organized. We feel that our son is ready for Kindergarten academically and socially, thanks to Sunshine House. We definitely recommend them and we will surely enroll our other sons here.

I cannot recommend Sunshine House in Oakley enough. I started my 2 1/2 year old daughter here a few months ago and it has truly been life changing for my daughter. My daughter was born premature during the on set of Covid, and participates in weekly speech and development therapy. Since she has started at Sunshine House, her speech therapy has accelerated. Both her therapists agree the introduction of Sunshine House has been that missing link. While she was very shy in the beginning, the teachers at Sunshine house are so patient, and really took the time to acclimate my daughter to her new school and ensure she is comfortable. Now my daughter is excited every school day and tells us about all the exciting things in her day. Thank you to all of the staff at Sunshine House Oakley for the wonderful school experience you are providing to my daughter and all your students!

Our 4 year old daughter started attending Sunshine House a couple of months ago. She absolutely loves it. She’s thrilled every morning when we tell her it’s a school day! Her favorite part of her day is circle time and learning time. She comes home each day and tells Mom and Dad about what she has learned and what art she has created for the day. The teachers have all been instrumental in helping her to navigate through her day with the structure and playtime very comfortably, as Sunshine House is her first experience with daycare/school. We very much recommend Sunshine House to any parents that are looking to help their child/children make the transition into Kindergarten with ease and excitement!

I have 3 kids who have attended Sunshine House programs - 1 in Martinez (10 years ago) and 2 in Oakley (5 years ago and currently enrolled). I love the structure of the program, the way they allow the kids to self-guide their play and interact with all the different aged kids in all the different spaces, along with getting age appropriate circle and learning times. The teachers are well trained and really do a wonderful job engaging the kids and making them feel welcome and supported. All my kids started at 2 and my older 2 stayed until they transitioned into Kinder which they adapted to very seamlessly thanks to the socialization and structure they got at Sunshine House :)

Sunshine House Oakley is absolutely WONDERFUL! We recently moved to Oakley and needed to get out 2 year old into preschool for the first time. We attended the tour and my son felt right at home. I was given a very thorough explanation of how Sunshine House functions on a day-to-day basis. We knew this was the place. The teachers are great at keeping us informed via phone calls, texts, and pictures. Weekly schedules are sent out to inform parents of the week's theme and they even provide ideas on how to prepare the kids for each day's activities. The art projects that my son comes home with are too cute and he even came home with a note from one of the teachers letting us know what he did that day and what he enjoyed most. I have also seen a lot of improvement in my son's speech since starting preschool. My son is so excited about the days that he gets to go to preschool and I can go to work knowing my kid is in good hands. Thank you Sunshine House!

We moved to Oakley and had to find a new preschool for my son. As soon as we toured the place I instantly knew this was the best choice for him. My only regret is that we didn’t have more years with sunshine house because my son is going to kindergarten this fall. My son loves going to school everyday and the communication from the school is amazing! We didn’t get this level of communication from his old school in Oakland so we couldn’t be happier with Sunshine House. I’ve already recommended to a friend who is looking for a new preschool when they move to Brentwood in June.

We have been at the Sunshine House for just under a year now and my daughter absolutely loves it there. It took her awhile to warm up but when she did she couldn’t wait to go back. Rylee has improved and grown in so many ways from being at the sunshine house. She absolutely loves all of her teachers and is loving all of the new friends she is making. The staff at the sunshine house is so welcoming and extremely responsive and helpful with all questions or concerns. Thank you Sunshine House!

We moved to Oakley early last year. One of the first things I wanted to find was a great preschool for my son. I reached out to a few parent groups and looked online for recommendations. The school that was recommended time and time again was Sunshine House. I scheduled a visit right away! I’m so glad I did. My son LOVES Sunshine House! They have a great play based curriculum with tons of outdoor play and the teachers are absolutely wonderful. The environment is so caring and my son always looks forward to going. I constantly get updates from the staff on how my son is doing. It is such a great relief to find a safe, caring, and fun place for my son to go to. Thank you Sunshine House for being such a special and integral part of my son’s most informative years.

Our family loves Sunshine house! My nephew attended this school and thrived, so we knew we wanted our children to attend here as well. Our son loves going to school every day and has grown so much since starting here. We are going to start our daughter as well and know she will thrive just as much as big brother. Thank you Sunshine house for all that you do and for always being so great with our little ones 😊

My husband and I started looking for daycares for our 2 year old a month before we moved to the area. We were recommended to check out Sunshine House by a few other people and were SO impressed with the facility during our tour. Our daughter was so excited to go back to school after taking a few months off (thanks to our move & COVID). Although she was hesitant to actually be there without mom+dad, the staff at SH made her feel comfortable and ensured that she was happy within minutes of being dropped off. We especially love getting frequent texts and picture updates of our daughter throughout the week. I have seen so much growth in her abilities within the short two weeks that she has been attending. Would HIGHLY recommend this day care to anyone looking for a good, reliable facility!

We enrolled our son at Sunshine House as soon as we moved to Oakley. This daycare/preschool came highly recommended. I took a tour with my son and was highly impressed with the organization and cleanliness of the facility. I signed up the next day. My son was super excited to start a new school. We had issues with his previous daycare/preschool because they expected the kids to act a certain way and not recognizing that they are still learning how to communicate. Here at Sunshine House, I can tell that the teachers genuinely care for all the kids. They take the time to get to know each child as individuals and their individual needs. I enjoy that my son is exposed to the different teachers because they all bring something great to the school. I see a confidence in my son since he started. Drop off and pick up are a breeze and I love it that my son comes home happy. When I ask him about his day, I can see that he’s enjoying learning and his overall experience. I highly recommend Sunshine House.

We decided to enroll our daughter in Sunshine House Oakley about 2 months ago and we are so happy with our decision. This is her first time going to a pre school/ day care and she loves it! She asks me everyday if it’s a school day and is always bummed when it isn’t! She loves all of her teachers and her favorite part is circle time. Drop off and pick up is always easy. The facility is clean and well organized. I would recommend this pre school to any parents looking to put their child in a fun, safe, and educational setting.

Sunshine House Oakley has been great for my daughter. I love being able to go to work knowing she’s in great hands. I’ve always said I would do anything to keep my daughter from attending a daycare so young, but I really feel like sunshine house is a safe place for her to grow and enjoy the many activities lined up for her. She comes home in a great mood everyday, showing me the new things she’s learned. I also love being able to receive updates through out the day, whether it’s because she’s gotten hurt or she’s having a great time. I can really tell the staff and teachers go above and beyond in all that they do and it’s truly appreciated!

My son started Sunshine at 2.5. He had been accepted to a local program just after 2 that was very academically forward. His emotional and social development weren't quite ready for that type of program. Kids were expected to stay quiet and sit still for more than 15 - 20 for straight instruction. That's tough on any kid but my kid, wasn't ready for that style of program. So there we were, searching for childcare over Thanksgiving break to put our 2.5 year old little life in their hands too. The program prior, he had cousins enrolled and had been used by the family for a long time so there was a sort of pre trust there. Ironically, that trust faded quickly but when we started Sunshine House, I didn't know any of the staff but I'm glad I took a chance. My son advanced quickly. They give them guidance but with love and cuddles. My little one had a few different teachers for circle time through the years but, he always loved his Sunshine House teachers. They are amazing at working with them on not just the academic but the emotional and social too. My son is ready for Kindergarten. It is with a heavy heart I write this review as they are just now in our rearview mirror but we love them and support them! The program has my son ready for the next chapter. From the day I took my first tour, unsettled because I didn't know who was going to be with my son for hours at time to grateful and happy family with the love and care our child received. My son's father and I are both in Healthcare and I also have to say that Sunshine did an amazing job with the kids during COVID and figuring out a new normal. I kept my little one home for awhile but Sunshine had quickly come to a new normal with creativity that allowed the kids to still learn, laugh, and play in a new world they didn't understand. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about Sunshine. My son is my everything... they treated him like he was too.
