Our son previously used Sylvan for reading help and our daughter currently is enrolled in the reading program. Her confidence was low, and she knew very few sight words. In just one month, I can already see an incredible difference. She is beginning to read books, looking at words, sounding them out, and then confidently saying the full word. The staff is extremely professional, and I truly appreciate how they take the time to break everything down in a way that makes learning feel manageable and encouraging. We have had a wonderful experience at Sylvan with my child. Although they were performing at grade level, I could see the material in school was getting harder, and wanted to make sure they could continue to excel in the more challenging classes. The Sylvan instructors we have had have been wonderful, and done a great job breaking concepts down and explaining things in ways that are easy to understand. The structure of the curriculum is great, as it is customized to each kid, and there is adequate repetition, and they make sure skills are mastered before moving on. The manager, Stacy, is fantastic, and genuinely cares about my child and their progress. She has been highly responsive to feedback, helping match my child up with instructors they click with, and promptly resolving issues on rare instances when we've had a problem. Overall, starting Sylvan was a great choice for us- we recently got the results back from the mid-year standardized testing from school, and my child jumped up to the top percentiles in the areas that we targeted! We are grateful to the Sylvan Matthews Team for helping my child improve their academic success!
