I have put both my children in Sylvan and I couldn't be happier with the results. My son started school the year of Covid so was not able to be in school but doing it online, and as a result of that he was behind on reading. We took him to Sylvan and within 4 months he was reading above grade level and want from get “E” to “A” on his report cards. He was in second grade at the time. Now he is in 6th grade and still getting all the “A” and reading above grade level. My daughter was struggling with both math and reading and attend sylvan for 2 years off and on took breaks over the summer but for the first time this year she passed her reading growth assessment at school because sylvan got her where she needed to be on grade level and the confidence to believe in herself. Last year she was at sylvan for math because she was struggling to understand and was scared for having to take SOL for the first time so we decided to put her in sylvan for the extra help and she had the skill, understanding and confidence in her math that she passed her SOL with above average scores. If your child needs extra help and a smaller setting to help understand things sylvan is the best place to be. They are so caring, loving, supportive and understanding. They treat you like family because there you are a family. Especially the sylvan in Chesapeake Va. If my kids ever need help in school again I will definitely be going back.
My daughter has only been attending Sylvan (Chesapeake) location for a month, and she has gained so much confidence in her Reading and Math. I only have (1) child in the 5th grade, so I wanted her to get this boost of academic confidence before entering Middle School next year. Yes, the costs is a little pricey but they do have options to assist with that so please do not like finances be a reason your child(ren) fall behind. Coming from a single mother with a full time job and no financial support it can be done. THANK YOU SYLVAN FAMILY we will be back in September!
My daughter started attending sylvan because she was failing reading and math. She is in 3rd grade and just struggled so much this year. After she started at sylvan it took no time for us to see her confidence build and focus grow stronger for the topics she was once struggling with. She ended up passing both her reading and math SOLs in school!!!! We couldn't be more pleased with the growth she has made thanks to sylvan! The teachers and staff here made her feel welcome and understood! I highly recommend Sylvan Learning Center to anyone looking for help for their struggling child.
The entire staff and teachers here are incredible. My child was falling behind in school and they were able to turn her results around within weeks. They not only help your child stay current with their school curriculum but also foster a love for learning and academics from a young age. 10/10.
This place is amazing!! My granddaughter loves this place. She has come so far in the subjects she was struggling in. The staff is Awesome! It was the best decision I made for my granddaughter. Sylvan is the BEST!!
