A shout out to Ms Kay and the Sylvan Learning team. My grandson has attended Sylvan for a little over a year and he's progressed so much in his reading skills. Ms Kay identified that he was dyslexic and helped him with strategies that allow him to be successful. He enjoys reading and is excited about attending his sessions each week. If he can't make a class he's eager to want to make it up. She makes it fun and motivates the children to want to learn. What more can you ask!! Ms Kay is very knowledgeable and has exceptional credentials. She loves what she does and you can see it in her face! We're so blessed to have her in our lives. As we begin another school year, I am reminded of how grateful I am for the East San Antonio Sylvan Learning Center. I strongly recommend this Sylvan location to any family looking to improve their child's academic success. However, it would be a great oversight if I did not give credit where it is truly due. It is with the utmost gratitude and admiration that I write this in praise of Mrs. Kay. From the very beginning, it was evident that she is a rare and extraordinary educator, a true treasure in every sense. Mrs. Kay's passion for teaching and her genuine love for education shine through in everything she does. She is not simply a tutor; she is a one-of-a-kind professional whose dedication to her students' learning, growth, and development is unmatched. She invests her time, energy, and heart to ensure that each child reaches their fullest potential. I often say that every teacher should model themselves after her, because she embodies what education is meant to be. My grandson Giovanni has thrived under her guidance. Even during the time when we had a gap in reconnecting, I never once considered placing his education in anyone else's hands. That trust has been affirmed repeatedly, as Mrs. Kay continues to provide not only instruction, but also encouragement, confidence, and a genuine joy for learning. My commitment is to keep him enrolled at Sylvan through fifth grade, or until Mrs. Kay assures me, he is ready to move forward. That is the level of trust I place in her ability. Mrs. Kay is not just an outstanding educator; she is a gift to the families and children she serves. She has made an incredible difference in my grandson's academic journey, and for that, I will always be grateful. It is both my honor and privilege to have my grandson under her instructions. I don't typically leave reviews but wanted to get on here and express how overwhelmingly happy we are with our choice to put our son in tutoring at Sylvan Learning Center at the East San Antonio location. My son has been part of the Sylvan family for about a year and a half and has gained so much from the program. He has had some huge educational gaps, especially in reading. When he came to the center he was 10 years old and reading on a pre-k level. Before coming to Sylvan he had been in a different tutoring service for two years and has received SPED services from the school district since Kinder; even with all of this help my son had not progressed past the pre-k reading level. In the last year and a half at Sylvan he is now reading on a third- grade reading level and continues to make progress at each session. Ms. Kay, from Sylvan, has been able to work with him and find out what his true deficits are and how to correct them. She was able to work with him in a way that was kind, respectful and lifted him up a person. He had spent so many years receiving “help” in ways that made him feel like he would never be an active and independent reader. He started using negative self-talk calling himself “stupid;” my son had lost his belief in himself. In the past year, all of that negativity has changed into him truly believing in himself and he is now so proud of his accomplishments. My son, the same kid who used to throw tantrums about going to school because he was embarrassed, now happily goes to both tutoring and school. Ms. Kay took a little boy who didn't believe in himself anymore and helped him grown into someone who is happy with who he is and proud that he is finally an independent reader. We cannot thank Ms. Kay and the staff at the East San Antonio Sylvan Learning Center enough for the care and dedication they have provided to our son.

Ms. Kaye and the Sylvan Team are amazing. My daughter started attending Sylvan her freshman year in High School for assistance with STAR preparation, reading and math. They developed a plan for my daughter that generated great results. Her grades improved (Honor Roll), she passed all five STAR Assessments, and her confidence increased. I am so grateful for Ms. Kaye and the team. If you have a child that requires assistance, I recommend enrolling them with Sylvan.

We are so blessed with the help and support we have received for our child since coming here to Sylvan. Ms. Kay has been the biggest help than any other teachers that have worked with my son. Not only has she helped him grow academically, but he also has grown confidently with his reading and has been able to advance far more than he did at his past schools. That says a lot. Ms. Kay is very communicative and really cares about her students and not only wants to see them successful but also confident. She wants to see them excel beyond just where they “should be” if they're behind in school. I definitely recommend Ms. Kay and her staff. You wont be disappointed. She can help pin point where learning issues are and began, and helps give your child the tools they need to soar… that's exactly what she has done with my child. He was behind several grade levels and now within only a short amount of time is closer to where he should be and with high hopes he'll go ahead. Thank you Ms. Kay!!! :)

We have had all three of our kids (ages 12, 8, and 6) at Sylvan, and the impact has been truly life-changing. When they started, they were 2–3 years below grade level and struggling academically. As we worked toward getting them into a private school, we were referred to Sylvan — and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Ms. Kay has been phenomenal — truly a gift from God. Her dedication, passion, and heart for these children are unmatched. Ms. Ann and the entire tutoring team are also absolutely amazing. Every tutor we've worked with genuinely cares and goes above and beyond for the kids. Today, all three of our children are at or above grade level, were accepted into the private school, and their confidence and love for learning have completely changed for the better. This was not just tutoring — it was an investment in our children's future. Ms. Kay, Ms. Ann, and the Sylvan team deserve an academic excellence award for the impact they make. I would not go anywhere else and cannot recommend them highly enough. Ms. Kay, thank you for dedicating so much for these children.

Where do I begin. My daughter has been attending Sylvan Learning East San Antonio for 7 months now and the tremendous growth I have seen in her is remarkable. Math was becoming a challenge and she ended the 4th grade with an Approach on her STARR test. We continued to attend tutoring sessions through the summer. It truly all paid off, my daughter just took the interim test this week and achieved a Meets. I am so incredibly grateful for all the help she has received from Miss Kay. My daughter was hesitant to attend tutoring, but now she looks forward to her tutoring sessions. Miss Kay has a gift in teaching and helping students build confidence in their work. She has built an environment where students feel welcomed and encouraged.
