Amazing learning center helping my child learn and gain more confidence
From my 7 year old “it's the best learning center ever, because it is fun”. My mom review is that we greatly appreciate the structured writing and reading courses and monthly check ins. We have seen a great difference and increase skill. My daughter went from being hesitant and having aversion to writing, to now authentically enjoying the writing process
I have seen improvement in my daughter's reading and fluency over the past year. She goes roughly four days a week during summer break and in the afternoon after school. This is a useful resource if you feel like your child is struggling in school or just want to keep your kiddos acclimated to schooling.
My child has never enjoyed going to tutoring, but he very much enjoys. Going to Sylvan.
My child is excited to go to Sylvan and earn tokens. His grades have improved significantly since starting the program.
My daughter has been doing Sylvan for a few months now and we have definitely seen results. The program is slow and steady and definitely requires a time commitment, but I do believe the methods are helping. My daughter enjoys going and the staff makes sure to follow up and meet with you consistently to talk about progress. Overall we've had a positive experience and will continue with Sylvan until my daughter is caught up.

My daughter receives tutoring at this center to support her reading development. After about a year of working with the wonderful tutors and leadership at this center, she has gone from testing two grade levels behind to being on grade level. She loves working with her tutors, she loves the incentive systems, and she loves the games she gets to play in the phonics and reading comprehension curriculum. More importantly, she has developed an identity as a reader. She confidently decodes new words in academic texts, reads signs and menus when we're out in the world, and reads for pleasure at home. She has undergone a total transformation in her attitude toward reading, and we credit Nancy and the wonderful team at Sylvan Sherman Oaks for contributing to this change.

We've had our two boys enrolled at Sylvan Learning in Sherman Oaks for a year now for reading, and the experience has been fantastic. We've seen a noticeable improvement in their skills and confidence since they started. The staff is wonderful, very professional and genuinely invested in the kids' progress. What I appreciate most as a parent is how flexible they are with scheduling. It makes balancing two kids' activities so much easier. We also really value the periodic evaluations they provide to keep us updated on the boys' performance and growth.
