Bringing our daughter to Sylvan in Southbury for math tutoring was one of the best decisions we've made for her academically! We watched her fall further and further behind on math as the school offered empty reassurances and half-measures. She was so frustrated and discouraged, and we felt helpless. We brought her to Sylvan in Southbury and we were impressed from the start. Peter was so kind and so thorough, going over her test results and our options for tutoring. There was full transparency over pricing and our payment options. The real magic happened with the tutors. The staff members here are incredible. They were able to find ways to explain math concepts on our daughter's level, connecting with her in a way that no one else had been able to. The tutors were able to keep her engaged and interested and she loved saving her tokens for cool rewards. When we started at Sylvan, our daughter was testing 2 grade levels behind in math. After a year of tutoring, she is not only at grade level, she is now getting enrichment work at school. Her confidence has improved dramatically. I believe Sylvan in Southbury changed her academic trajectory completely and it was worth every penny!

Sylvan Learning Center lives up to the hype and then some! Peter and his staff are wonderful to work with both as a parent and for the child. My son struggled in Math for several years and despite the school promising to catch him up for 2 years he continued to fall behind. For years we hired independent in person tutors and even hired online tutors and finally invested in Sylvan. Peter and his team were able to identify his deficiencies, understand them and create a program and work it to long lasting success. We learned from Peter how to better work with the school and an overall peace entered our home. Our son's confidence soared and this kid who was 3 years behind his peers when we started Sylvan, caught up in one year's time and here we are a year after completing Sylvan and he continues to get A's in Math! That confidence has helped him succeed in all of his classes. Independent tutors were a little less $$ per hour but got no where. Had we chosen Sylvan sooner, we would have saved all that money and most importantly, our son would have had that wonderful experience and his confidence and love of learning would have come much sooner. We cannot thank them enough! We would give them 10 Stars if we could!
