My son started going to Sylvan Learning of Wilton after we moved to a new school district after the Covid 19 restrictions during his kindergarten and 1st grade years left him as a "non reader" as a 2nd grader. I had fought for help for him at his new school and received nothing. He was pretty discouraged by the time I took him to Sylvan. In one summer he went from a non reader to just below grade level going into 3rd grade. Due to financial struggles I decided to leave sylvan after that summer in hopes that he would be alright just a little behind instead of 2 grade levels. After 6 months I realized he was again facing retention and was far below the rest of the class. Sylvan worked with my financial needs to get him back in and not only did he pass 3rd grade but with continued support there was no future talks of retention. Today he "graduates" Sylvan above grade level as one of the most creative and skilled writers in his class as described by his teacher at our last conference. But not only has sylvan given him the knowledge and the tools to be successful in school, they've also nurtured his confidence. He went from the kid who never raises his hand, never reads aloud in class, and never shares his work to the kid who volunteers to read the biggest paragraph and not only read his writing to the class but got it "published" at his school's library. Today sylvan is having a celebration in his honor and the dread I once felt about him going to middle school has turned into excitement as he begins this new chapter. If you want your child to not only succeed but have a whole team who cares about their struggles and fights for them to be heard then I highly recommend Sylvan Learning of Wilton. They've become a part of our family and I will be forever grateful for them giving my son back his confidence and joy of learning.

What a gem! We were here for the summer and wanted our son to have some exposure to the SAT before he starts 11th grade. We decided to focus just on the ELA section of the test. He found the course extremely useful. He said the teaching was clear and organized. He now knows which portion of the reading test he needs to focus on. Assessments at both ends, a great workbook, and access to a ton of digital resources. As a high school English teacher, I was very skeptical that he would want to go twice a week BUT he actually looked forward to it. That has everything to do with the quality of the instruction and how the instructors made him feel. I wish I could give more than five stars. We will definitely continue working with Audrey and her team online in the fall.
