Parent Reviews
We feel so incredibly lucky to have had our daughter at Sylvia’s. From day one was welcomed into such a warm, nurturing, and caring environment. Over the past year, we’ve watched her confidence, independence, and personality blossom, and that’s entirely thanks to Sylvia. She genuinely cares for the children as individuals, and it shows in everything they do—from the thoughtful activities to the love and attention they give each day. As parents, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your child is happy, safe, and loved, and that’s exactly what we found here. Leaving is truly bittersweet, and we will miss this community so much. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.
If you're looking for a daycare where your child will be as loved and well cared for as if they were home with you then Sylvia's Family Childcare will be the best fit for your family. Sylvia and May took exceptional care of my son. He was always excited to go and see "Sylvie", eat her delicious homemade meals and partake in all the lovely activities provided. Sylvia plans engaging and educational activities for the children that include celebrating festivities and outdoor excursions. She takes the time at each drop off to learn about what is currently happening in your child's life and provides detailed updates at pickup and sweet photos ensuring that you still feel part of your child's day even when you're away from them. Safety is incredibly important to Sylvia. We had an incident soon after my son started attending where an unknown person attempted to contact Sylvia to pickup my son, Sylvia ensured that this person was not given any details about my son, refused to allow them to pick him up and made sure we were aware of the situation. She was incredibly professional and I felt so secure trusting her with my son's safety. My son attended from 15 months to 27 months and the only reason we stopped going is because we moved internationally. Saying goodbye to Sylvia was like loosing a family member, I will always be incredibly grateful for the time we spent in her care.
Sylvia and her mom are truly amazing. From the start, we loved Sylvia's calming presence and attention to detail. Our daughter began attending at just 6 months old and is now 2. Sylvia's knowledge of developmental stages has been so valuable--she even helped our daughter start potty training much faster than we expected! Every transition, big or small, was handled seamlessly. The ratio of student to adult is very good and we know our baby is in good hands! They play outside a lot and we get a lot of photos throughout the day. Our daughter has even learned some mandarin.
I had the most incredible experience with Sylvia's daycare in Mission Bay. My daughter started at 4 months and stayed until she was 2 yo. The moment I enrolled my little one, I knew they were in the best hands possible. Sylvia's exceptional care ensured that my baby was always safe, happy, and well-fed. The engaging activities she provided were not only fun but also educational. Sylvia regularly took the children on outings to different parks, providing them with a stimulating and enriching environment. Sylvia's cooked fresh and nourishing meals for the kids. Additionally, I greatly appreciated her flexibility and understanding when I occasionally ran late, always accommodating my schedule. Sylvia's kindness towards both the children and parents created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Sylvia's daycare anyone seeking exceptional care and a loving environment for their little ones.
I had an exceptional experience with Sylvia’s family daycare. She demonstrated genuine care and professionalism. My son attended for over a year, he learned a lot and was very well fed. The facility is clean, safe, and offers engaging activities. I highly recommend this daycare for its commitment to children's well-being and development.
Thank you, Aleksandra, I am glad to have Jack too.
My son was in Sylvia's care for ~2 years (from 5.5 months to 2.5 years old) and we could not have asked for a better caregiver for him. Under her guidance, not only did our son learn so much (including Mandarin!), but we as new parents also learned from her. As first time parents, we were anxious about sending him to daycare and Sylvia's home was the perfect environment for him to grow up in and achieve so many early milestones. We received photos regularly from Sylvia as well as a thorough daily reports at the end of the day. Sylvia's proximity to the Mission Bay Kids' Park meant plenty of daily outdoor time as long as the weather permitted. We are very sad to be leaving Sylvia's and we feel so lucky that she was such an integral part of our son's first years. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a daycare for their child.
Sylvia took care of our toddler girl for more than 1.5 years (Age 1.5 Yr to 3 Yrs) and she is the best. She engaged our toddler in lots of fun activities and our little one loved it there. Sylivia is soft spoken, caring and answers our questions with lots of patience. She always sent us updates via texts and shared pics almost every day. She takes the kids to park for outdoor activities to let them have fun often :) she is very careful with the kids and we were never worried when we sent her to Sylivia. We highly recommend syliva and our toddler misses her everyday :(
We had our 4 month old in Sylvia's care and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sylvia was loving, extremely observant and flexible to our needs. Her pictures and written updates were a delight. Moreover, she helped us get on a regular schedule with feeding and eating. It was such a joy watching our baby get excited every time we got to Sylvia's front door. Thank you Sylvia!!!
If it was possible to add more stars, I would definitely do it. There is so much love in this place. Sylvia us super nice and warm, the place is beautiful, with an outdoor place. I took mi 3mo baby there for 4 months and he was so happy. Sylvia was constantly giving us feedback about his development, schedule and his interests! (Also pictures during the day that I appreciated so much). She will always welcome us with a beautiful smile. I left only because we had to take our baby to the same place as her sister to make our life's easier. Thanks for all Sylvia, we will miss you.
I can't say enough good things about Sylvia. We had our LO for almost 18 months with Sylvia (from 10 months to over 2 years). He had his many first milestones with Sylvia who encouraged and engaged him in many age appropriate activities. She is really flexible, both my husband and I are working parents and she was always understanding and her willingness to lend an extra hand which truly meant so much to us. She took our son to parks, museums, and activities nearby. She was very accommodating to our vegetarian diet. Her house was always very clean, filled with great activities, age appropriate toys, books, and backyard with slides / toys for the kids to enjoy. She always sent us updates via text and sent us pictures throughout the day. Our son learned a lot from her, our son loves going to her house. We are really extremely grateful for her and all she has done for our family as we conquered first few years.
Sylvia is an exceptional early childhood educator. We are SO lucky we found her!! She is smart, enthusiastic, engaging, and very flexible. Her home is safe, clean, and full of exciting books and toys. Sylvia also frequently sends pictures and videos of the kids during the day, which is such a special treat. I honestly don’t know how she does it all! We are so grateful for her excellent work!!
I am SO happy with the tenderness and care that Sylvia has shared with our baby over the last several months. We were nervous about bringing our daughter to daycare at only 4 months old, but could not be happier with our decision. Sylvia has set up a great light-filled play space stocked with more toys, books, and padding than we have in our own home. Outdoor time was important to us, so we're happy that Sylvia has her own private patio and the building's communal courtyard to give the kids fresh air. Plus she takes them on outings to nearby playgrounds which we love. She regularly sends us photos throughout the day and a journal of our baby's napping/feeding/etc schedule. The best part of it all is that she studied child development in school, and it is clear that she cares about the well-being of the children - she seems as excited about my daughter's development and milestones as I am. Overall, she helped make my transition back to work as easy as possible because I know my daughter is being well cared for.
