Our baby has loved coming here since day one. Prior to this, we enrolled him at a large, well known Bright Horizons facility. Despite how impressive it looked, he cried every single day for two weeks straight. When we transitioned to Tater Tots, everything changed. By day three, the crying stopped and ever since, he looks forward to going every day. Here is why we love Tater Tots so much: 1. Meals The meals are by far the most generous and thoughtfully prepared of any daycare or preschool we toured. They provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus two snack times daily. The food is healthy, home cooked, and well balanced, with plenty of fruits and vegetables. We never worry about our child being hungry. 2. Cleanliness The entire space and all toys are sanitized daily. Compared to our experience with our first child, who was sick almost every other week for over a year at a different daycare, our son rarely gets sick here. And when he does, it is usually just a minor sniffle and he recovers quickly. 3. Intentional environment and curriculum Unlike many daycares with overwhelming amounts of toys everywhere, Amiee keeps the space calm, intentional, and minimalist. Toys are rotated thoughtfully, and there are weekly, age appropriate craft activities that help develop fine and gross motor skills without overstimulating the children. 4. Highly qualified and bilingual care Amiee holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and brings years of hands on experience to her daycare. She also worked closely with her mother, who owned and operated Jenny’s Family Daycare just two blocks away, so caring for children truly runs in the family. Amiee is fluent in both English and Cantonese, and the children are immersed in both languages throughout the day. It is very important to us that our kids grow up multilingual while still thriving in English. 5. Outdoor space We toured over 10 daycares, both in home and center based, across San Francisco, and Amiee’s backyard truly stood out. It is spacious, thoughtfully landscaped with turf and toxin free mulch, and gets plenty of sunshine. Outdoor time is a priority for us, and this space is safe and larger than most other places we toured. 6. Communication and daily updates We receive updates and pictures multiple times throughout the day, which gives us so much peace of mind. At the end of each day, we get a clear summary of nap time, meals, and diaper changes. Our son also naps extremely well here, often over two hours every day, which is impressive since he is a terrible napper at home. It really shows how comfortable and secure he feels here. Tator Tots is a rare gem. We feel completely at ease knowing our child is well cared for, well fed, stimulated, and genuinely loved every single day.
