Parent Reviews
Miss Nassrin’s warmth, skill, and love have turned what I thought would be a hard transition into the most magical beginning to my son's preschool journey. The loving, intentional community and environment Miss Nassrin has created makes every child feel special and strong sense of belonging. I have already seen the growth in him -- his confidence, desire for independence, social skills, and curiosity have all blossomed in such a short time. He’s also grown to be more in touch with the natural world around him. Every day is an adventure he can’t wait to step into. Miss Nassrin pours her heart into everything she does. With a master’s in Early Childhood Development, a background in engineering, and a deep well of love, she brings both expertise and creativity to the classroom. Each day is filled with purposeful play and meaningful experiences—thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence. She shares detailed daily updates, photos, and videos, allowing parents to feel connected to their child’s world. What sets her apart is her depth. She sees the child behind every behavior, the spark behind every question, and nurtures both confidence and emotional awareness. She partners beautifully with parents, meeting each child exactly where they are, and guiding social interactions with skill and compassion. As someone with a background in education and a deep passion for early childhood development, I can confidently say The Rowan Tree surpasses many alternative and nature-based programs. Miss Nassrin blends the best of Reggio, the soul of Waldorf, and her own one-of-a-kind wisdom to create a place where children feel safe, seen, and deeply loved. At Rowan Tree, each day is filled with moments like these: Indoors and outdoors, the children paint in every way imaginable: with brushes, rollers, paint sprayers, and more—on paper, wood, and canvases. Some days they stand at easels. Other days they lie paper on the ground and are given the freedom to splash with spray bottles or brush freely. One day, they even made their own paint from scratch. In the mud kitchen, they mix and stir with dirt, leaves, water, and create a magical feast using real kitchen items. The children create their own playdough from scratch, build toy cars and sculptures, and even practice woodworking using real tools—hammers, nails, sandpaper, and even saws—with the help and guidance of Miss Nassrin. With PVC pipes and water, they construct fountains and tunnels, exploring physics, engineering, and the joy of problem-solving through play. Children cook and bake—measuring, mixing, and enjoying their own culinary creations. Over the summer, the children made their own pizzas for lunch and enjoyed them alongside vegetables, including tomatoes they had helped harvest from their garden. This summer, their garden produced strawberries, tomatoes, and herbs. They also ate freshly picked figs from their fig tree. The children learn to care for chickens, watch them lay eggs, and even raise butterflies from tiny caterpillars—then releasing them into the garden. The children are immersed in nature every day and develop a true appreciation for mother nature. Furthermore, each week, they have a music teacher who arrives with a guitar and a basket of instruments. The space comes alive with rhythm and melody as children sing and explore creating sound and music. Miss Nassrin has a rare gift for balancing individuality and community building in a way that feels both natural and deeply harmonious. This careful blend, and her expertise in child development and psychology, has been especially beneficial for my very curious, spirited, and strong-willed child. He loves socializing and being with others but is still learning the nuances of forming strong, positive connections. Miss Nassrin guides him in creating, playing, and collaborating with his peers, while nurturing his self-expression and igniting his curiosity through open-ended exploration and rich, hands-on experimentation. She had helped guide us as parents, as well!
“Rowan Tree Preschool has been an incredible experience for our family. My daughter absolutely loves it here—so much that when I come to pick her up, she doesn’t even want to leave! The teacher is warm, caring, and truly invested in each child’s growth. I highly recommend Rowan Tree Preschool to any parent looking for a nurturing and engaging environment where children thrive.”
