Parent Reviews
Our little school doesn’t get many reviews, and as a parent I really hope more families know of this hidden gem in Bethesda/DMV area! Both of my children have attended Tolstoy Preschool for over a year, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent seeking a high-quality early education. It’s much more than a daycare—it’s a thoughtfully designed program that builds strong habits, teamwork, and skills in language, math, and the arts. What stands out the most is our exceptional teachers - they are kind, loving, creative and experienced. As a parent, not only I trust them with my children, I’ve also learned a lot from their them. The school’s education programs are very impressive—whether it is theater, music, math, or fine art. Each day they go through a productive and fun routine combined with serious learning and outdoor sports and playing. It’s rare to see such a strong balance of structure and creativity. My kids come home excitedly showing me what they’ve learned, whether it is singing, dancing, or acting, or all the rather sophisticated artworks they made at the school- their originality always amazed me! For Russian bilingual families, Tolstoy Preschool truly checks all the boxes—it offers a one-of-a-kind experience filled with joy, friendship, and a strong sense of community, including a wonderful network of families and alumni. For non-Russian-speaking families, it provides a rich multicultural environment alongside an outstanding early education.
