Parent Reviews
Our discovery of WPNS occurred by chance when we attended one of their open houses, where we were immediately impressed by the facility. WPNS has proven to be an ideal environment for my two-and-a-half-year-old son, who is exceptionally active, inquisitive, and vibrant. The cooperative nature of the school ensures significant parental involvement, and I am particularly pleased that all faculty members—not merely his primary teachers—know my son by name and engage with him consistently. The atmosphere is notably welcoming, and the academic curriculum is highly commendable. My family is very happy with our choice to put my son into their pre-school.
WPNS has turned out to be such an incredible discovery for our family. The entire pre-school process can be very stressful. You can take all of that stress away at WPNS. It is affordable, welcoming, safe, caring, fun, and educational all wrapped up in one. The teachers are all so thoughtful and passionate. We’re in our 2nd year now and plan to send our 16 month old girl there too when the time comes. Our son started shortly after he was 2 years old. He is 3 and a half now and his development has been incredible. His social skills, problem solving, and creativity are night and day from when he started. It is a unique place and special place not just for kids but for parents too. What an incredible resource for new parents to learn and grow along with their children.
As a single mama, finding a place where my son feels safe, happy, and supported means everything to me. WPNS has given us so much more than childcare, it’s given us a community. The teachers and parents genuinely lift each other up, and it’s been such a blessing. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a warm, family-centered preschool!!
We've been at WPNS for two years now and it's been so wonderful for our child and family. First of all, I really wanted to send our child to a co-op because I wanted to know there was active parent involvement. It's not only been great for our family for me to come and get to help out at school, but I like knowing the other families care enough to be there. It's also been great to be part of an active community and we've made wonderful friends. I also wanted a play-based school for my child's development, and oh my, does he play play play! The space itself is so magical with different areas for dress up and imaginative play, blocks and train sets, quiet reading area, dress up area, and a big outdoor space with play structure, bikes and lots of "messy" play stations. But it's really the teachers that have made it such a wonderful place for my kid. They really love and care about him and share his progress with me when I pick him up. My child entered a shy two year old with a speech delay and is now a confident, chatty three year old. I really love that the school helps encourage him to be himself. I was worried a bit when we signed up that there wasn't much structure, but when I volunteered I could really see that there was a rhythm to the day and they are able to have play be child-led while providing different opportunities for them to choose throughout the day. And it's nice that he can be with kids younger and older than him while also getting some small group time with his teacher. If you're in the area, I highly recommend the school and to take a tour and see the magic for yourself!
From day one my 2 year old felt right at home. He loves school so much. The school is such a wonderful community. My son builds relationships with all the teachers and I feel right at home. My son if thriving and we couldn’t be happier.
We have loved being part of WPNS! Thank goodness for this community during COVID. Our kiddo has made great friends, learned to write his name, and been supported through a really hard year. So glad we found this school.
Co-op established in the 1960's with a play-based curriculum. Encourages getting messy and exploring, especially in their down-to-earth outdoor spaces. Potty training not required for the preschool, which is nice for the late bloomers. Morning and afternoon programs available. Very affordable tuition compared to other preschools and even day cares in LA, along with some parent and family time commitments required as members of the cooperative.
