Parent Reviews
Bright Beginnings has been like a second home for our 3 year old. My son started here at 2.5 years old and got adjusted in the first week itself. The teachers here provide such a warm and loving nurturing environment that the kids are always excited to go to school and come back with loads of stories to tell :) My son has been getting independent with so many things, in such a short span of time. We clearly see him being helpful and compassionate in various activities, both at home and outside. The discipline set aside by Miss Joanne really helps to balance the school culture. This was the first school we visited, along with a couple of other schools and we just decided to submit an application given Miss Joanne's vast experience and strong belief in the Montessori system and explaining us the different ways in which kids are taught at school. We simply wanted a strong social emotional platform for our son, that would lay down a strong foundation for his growth later. The whole environment felt so homely, warm and welcoming that we simply did not register/submit any application elsewhere. And we were Accepted!! All the teachers here: Mr. Jerry, Miss Joanne, Miss Jacqueline, Mr. Kevin and Miss Jenny have taken care of our son physically, emotionally and academically. He has learnt, and still learning, a lot here, and we couldn't be more happier.
We feel very lucky to have found Bright Beginnings. Our son enrolled here right before the pandemic and we decided to keep him virtual because so much was unknown back then and I was expecting our second kid so we didn't want to risk any exposure. Everyone at the school went above and beyond to keep our son included and feel like a part of the class. They setup custom software just for him so he could participate in class room activities remotely, when they had celebrations like easter at school, the teachers stopped by to bring him goodies and hid easter eggs in our front yard for him to hunt as an example. I always know that he is well taken care of emotionally, physically and academically because he spends his time at Bright Beginnings. He has turned into a such a well-rounded individual, who can express himself constructively and is academically ready for Kindergarten at the same time. I am still surprised by his knowledge sometimes, and feel like I didn't have to spend any effort on his learning and growth because everything was taken care of for me. If you are looking for a place that you have 100% confidence on being safe, like a second home, full of hugs and kisses, and builds a strong academic and social emotional foundation, then Bright Beginnings is for you.
My husband and I are very happy to send our toddler daughter to Bright Beginnings every day! Teachers Joanne and Jerry have been running this Montessori-based school for 30+ years, and they have the wisdom, patience, and gentleness borne from literally decades of nurturing kiddos. It's family run, with Joanne and Jerry's two daughters and son-in-law as staff members. Given that our daughter was born right before the Covid lockdown happened, she was pretty undersocialized coming into the school, but the staff (and other kids!) have been fantastic in ushering her into a world with "other people!" Other positive notes: - BB makes an effort to create family community with catered celebrations for yearly milestones, and it's been really nice to connect to other parents in a low-stress way. - There are two drop-off parking spaces in front of the school which are vital towards supporting a relatively speedy kiddo transfer! - Our daughter isn't potty trained, so we pay a small fee and supply our preferred diapers/wipes for the staff to use. - There are monthly themes for the kids to learn about, such as oceans, birds, etc. The whole school changes decorations from month to month! - Our kid really enjoys school - she usually answers our question of "How was school today?" with "FUNNNNNNN", and it's heartwarming to hear all the kids excitedly greet her when she walks in the door in the morning.
My son, wife and I joined the Bright Beginnings family when our son was 2.5 years of age. Prior to joining, my wife researched and created a spreadsheet of many preschools in the area including their costs, pros, cons and other details. She particularly preferred the Montessori method of education, so many of the schools were Montessori based. From that list she narrowed down the schools and scheduled visits to view over a dozen preschools. Bright Beginnings was one of the last schools we viewed. I remember showing up to the open house one hour early, knocking on the door and meeting Ms. Joanne, the owner & head teacher. She greeted my family and I with hugs and introduced us to her family (Mr. Jerry, Ms. Jenny, Ms. Jacqueline, and Mr. Kevin.) I remember walking around and immediately feeling like I was at my parents’ house and my mom and dad were watching my son. The school is American Montessori Society (AMS) accredited, which was a plus for my wife. Their curriculum, materials and approach truly align with the Montessori principles. Their backyard play space is huge, it includes a play structure, swings, and even a strawberry garden the kids tend to. We decided to submit an application not only because of Ms. Joanne’s experience & knowledge of the Montessori method and sharing with us the various ways our son will grow in these preschool years, but more importantly the school felt very welcoming and family oriented. After submitting our application, Ms Joanne notified us she would like us to join the Bright Beginnings family and went over everything from A to Z that new families need to know. We were welcomed with open arms and my son absolutely loved it here. Hard times fell on all of us during the Covid shutdowns. My family hit a hard road twice consecutively during this time and my Bright Beginnings family reached out and assisted me without asking. I can never repay what help they provided my family and I through uncertain times. I can never repay the joy I felt hearing my son talk about how great his day was after school and playing with his friends. I can however tell you that this is the best family based community you can send your child to. To all my teachers at bright beginnings, thank you with all my heart. You’ve prepared Ronan for kindergarten and I’m so happy to have seen him grow over the years.
Our son Stephen started at Bright Beginnings in April after a year at another preschool. It didn’t take long for us to realize what we’d been missing. He had playmates at his old school, but within a couple of weeks he was bringing home songs, stories of new friends, and overflowing self-expression. (As I write this he’s conducting his mom in “These Are the Months of the Year.”) Since then, we’ve heard the same stories over and over from other parents (in our short time there have been no less than four school events for families, not to mention birthday parties) about the lights that went on in their first days and weeks there. Then there was the dad who told us he’d been a Bright Beginnings kid himself once upon a time. Ms. Joanne and team have been doing this for decades, and it really shows, from the meticulous organization of the classroom to the seasonal events and decor to the endless repertoire of songs for your kids to learn and bring home with them. It’s definitely worth a visit to see if your little one likes it as much as we do. Hopefully they’ll wear their royal blue Bright Beginnings t-shirt as proudly as Stephen does.
Our daughter loves Bright Beginnings! This was her first daycare/preschool experience as a pandemic toddler and we're so glad she's here under the care of teachers Joanne, Jerry, Jacqueline, Kevin, and Jenny! Our daughter loves playing around in the big yard, making friends, and gaining lots of confidence and socialization in this loving environment. From our first visit, we knew the teachers really put their hearts into this school and loving the kids. We look forward to sending our younger daughter here soon!
Wonderful school, wonderful teachers - my daughter loves it and is excited to go to school everyday - she has truly blossomed since starting there. We are so happy with Bright Beginnings.
