Parent Reviews
Collective Kind is a wonderful place that we are very thankful to have been a part of. Our 2-year-old went here in 2022 in the Spring (Park Slope building) and then the Summer (Ft Green building). We are leaving to start him at a daycare that is a lot closer to home, but we will miss all of the teachers and parents at Collective Kind. It really felt like a family. Anna Caroline and the rest of the crew shared our values of thoughtful, gentle care, and they constantly put those values into action. Every time I dropped our son off, I knew that he would be safe and well-cared for. To me, Collective Kind feels much less like a daycare, and more like a wonderful, loving community of people who genuinely care about each child for their own sake, and work hard to look after each child and make sure each child is thriving. I cannot give enough praise to this wonderful community that has been created. We had some not-so-positive experiences with another daycare in the past, so it was a relief to find Collective Kind and then to meet the teachers and over the year see how wonderful the community is. I strongly recommend Collective Kind to any other parent who is looking for a wonderful place for their child.
We feel very lucky to have found Collective Kind. It's such a considerate and caring community, and it's amazing to see kids being treated with the respect that they deserve. The staff members are so attentive - I feel like they are the most observant people I've ever met! Our daughter is very happy in this community and sometimes refuses to leave since at Collective Kind she can choose what she likes to play with, sing lots of songs with her friends, and gets to spend ample time outside. We also love that they do their best to achieve equity by using a sliding scale for tuition. They are always open to the needs of parents and children alike, which has been so helpful to us as we find a balance between demanding work and quality childcare.
Collective Kind has been wonderful for our family. We love the mission and vision of this school and the approach they take to education and child development. It's important to us that our son develops respect, appreciation, and care for our community and the natural world. Anna and Anna Caroline, and the rest of the community, are incredibly caring and accommodating to ours and our son's needs. We had planned to enroll our 2.5 year old son in preschool just before the pandemic hit but then our plans, like everyone's, changed. After 6 months at home as a family, transitioning away from being with us full-time has been a challenge for our son. Anna and Anna Caroline have worked with us as a team to make sure we have a separation plan that works for our very attached kiddo and helps him build confidence and independence. I love how much time the kids spend playing and learning outdoors and I love how individualized the learning is for each child within an environment that prioritizes community.
These people are absolutely wonderful, and my 2 year old daughter loves it! It’s really broadened her world, and gives her something completely different from what we can at home. There’s a lot of open play but also a nice amount of structure and care to the activities and the rhythm of their day. She comes home and constantly talks about all her friends, the teachers, and sings the new songs she learns there. It’s a very gentle, respectful, and loving environment, and it has really helped my daughter to thrive. I couldn’t recommend it more!
