Description
Dr. Day Care provides preschoolers with opportunities to develop a love of learning! Children are given more freedom to explore based on their interests as they are engaged in the classroom learning centers. Learning centers give your preschool child the opportunity to learn to share and play with others, build independence and confidence, and acquire the skills needed for kindergarten. Learning emerges through frequent exposure to concepts, interactions, purposeful play, and new experiences. Utilizing Creative Curriculum and Cognitive ToyBox, our teachers complete daily observations and authentic assessment to guide lesson plans and activities while ensuring that each child is meeting developmentally appropriate skills. Children ages 4 and up attend quarterly field trips.

Parent Reviews
My daughter has attended Dr. Daycare in Providence for the past year and a half. The staff is really wonderful, communicative, and caring. She bonds with a lot of the teachers as they nurture the heart, mind and soul of my active toddler. This daycare specifically has been really wonderful for her language acquisition and development -In both Spanish and English. She can count, practices sign language, emotional attunement, and has positive peer interactions with her peers. I do wish there was more of a chance for her to practice toilet training because it's somewhat confusing for me to be practicing at home ( with underwear) and school to use diapers. I also wish she drank more water and there was a scheduled snack time for kids being picked up in the evening. Between 2-5:30 is a long time, and she seems hungry/thirsty at pick up.
My child attended the daycare for half a year and the experience wasn't great. First, the food at the daycare is quite poor quality, full of added sugar, lacks fresh fruit and vegetables and isn't enough for a toddler. My child would be starving at 4pm at pickup. Even though the daycare declares that there is no screen time for the children, on multiple occastions I saw children watching baby shark or cocomellon on a tablet. The time children spend outside is also below what they need. Finally, in 6 months I couldn't get the daycare teachers to cooperate on steps towards potty training my child and they just refused to bring him to the toilet during the day. They were fully potty trained in less than a week after changing daycares. Teachers constantly change, so children don't get to build a meaningful connection with the staff. Crying children are mostly ignored by the teachers. One teacher in particular would always shout and yell at pre-k children in a classroom nearby for every little thing. I assume the chilred had to be scared to do anything. Finally, diaper changes were not always timely. Once, my child had such severe diaper rash, they couldn't sit down and cried all the way home. The only thing that helped was giving them tylenol. No child should get so much pain inflicted on them at daycare. It's nice that both English and Spanish is used at the daycare, so children pick up both languages. However, some of the teachers can't communicate in English at all which complicates drop offs/pick ups.
