Parent Reviews
We feel so lucky to have found Growing Minds Montessori Preschool, especially Ms. Donna and Ms. Rosalina. From the very beginning, they created such a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment for our son. Ms. Donna’s patience is truly unmatched. She played such a huge role in helping our son through potty training with kindness, encouragement, and consistency. We are so grateful for the care and understanding she showed during that stage. Our son is always excited to go to school, and it’s because of the love and positive energy he receives from Ms. Donna and Ms. Rosalina every day. He’s even learning Spanish. He enjoys all the art projects, yoga sessions, and story time at the library. Seeing him happy, confident, and eager to learn means everything to us as parents. We couldn’t ask for a better preschool experience and highly recommend Growing Minds Montessori to any family looking for a caring and dedicated school.
We enrolled our older son in GMMP when he turned 2 in 2024, and it has been a wonderful spot for him and our family! Since day 1, Ms. Donna, Ms. Rosalina, and all the families have been so welcoming. During the day, I get photos and videos of his activities, and we get a monthly curriculum to help us follow along. Our first has learned so many practical life skills (like putting on and taking off shoes, jackets, etc) and social-emotional skills. GMMP was essential when we brought home our second child, giving our first a routine, and helping him process becoming a big brother. I'm so grateful for this wonderful community, and can't wait to send our second there when he turns 2.
Both of our kids have been at Growing Minds Montessori since they were two, and our son just graduated from the program. After all these years, I can honestly say Ms. Donna Pineda is one of the most wonderful, compassionate, and attentive teachers we could have asked for. She really cares about every single kid who walks through her door, and you can see it in everything she does. The growth we've seen in our son has been tremendous. His speech, his curiosity, his comprehension, the way he understands and talks about his own feelings, how he plays and works with other kids, all of it grew in ways we didn't expect. He left the program ready for kindergarten, sure, but more than that he left confident, independent, and genuinely excited to learn. A lot of that comes down to the curriculum. It's comprehensive, and it lets each kid move at their own pace instead of pushing everyone through the same lesson on the same day. The range of what they cover still surprises me. They've done science units on space and the solar system, dinosaurs, mathematics, learning about different cultures around the world, Spanish Circle for vocabulary, and Little Chefs, which our kids absolutely loved. Our son would come home talking about planets one week and counting everything in the house the next. He picked up Spanish words we didn't even teach him. It's the kind of variety that keeps them curious instead of bored. Donna takes the time to figure out what each student needs, where to challenge them, where to feed their curiosity, and where they just need patience and a little emotional support instead. Our kids also picked up so many everyday skills like cleaning up after themselves, being patient, and working through small problems on their own. We noticed it at home right away. The environment is safe and warm, and Donna is extremely communicative. We always knew how our kids' days went, what they were working on, and what we could do at home to help. As a parent, that kind of consistent, open communication means a lot. The group is small on purpose, so the kids get real attention and the families actually get to know each other. We've built lasting relationships with the teachers and with the other parents, friendships that have carried on well outside of the classroom. Donna and her teaching assistant are wonderful human beings, and it's clear this is a calling for them and not just a job. We're so grateful our kids got to start their education here. If you're looking for a preschool or pre-K where your child will be truly known and cared for, we can't recommend Growing Minds Montessori enough.
Growing Minds Montessori! We are so happy with our choice of Growing Minds Montessori. As this was out first child, coupled with the pandemic (born in Feb 2020) we were headed in to this process pretty much blind. After the intro tour, we almost immediately knee this would be the perfect fit. Our daughter was transitioning from a daycare where she was the oldest by a year, and understandably was a tad but behind socially. Donna’s set up, coupled with the Montesorri ideology provided us with comfort, and an almost immediate/noticeable improvement in her energy, spirit, and curiosity. The Brightwheel app that Donna/Montessori uses has us in awe of how much they find to do in the house, backyard, and the local neighborhood. An added bonus has been the relationships our daughter, as well as the parents have made thru the school. Parent zen achieved.
Our daughter just started at GMMP and I have to say, we are already blown away. The space and environment is unlike any other daycare/preschool we've been to or toured. It's peaceful, clean (surprising for a school), calming, and the yard is great! Ms Donna is very kind, warm, sweet, understanding, and wonderful to work with. Our daughter was going through a potty regression due to a new sibling, and Ms Donna worked so patiently and positively with her. The adventures to the library, parks, and neighborhood walks are great additions to the daily outdoor time our daughter already gets. The art projects and curriculum she's learning in just the few short weeks far surpasses what she was creating and learning at her previous school for the last year!! Oh and not to mention, the level of communication and daily updates we've received is unparalleled! Our daughter is a very strong willed and spirited child, so I was very anxious about her transition and just a new school in general, but I am beyond relieved and grateful she is now at GMMP. We can see the positive difference in her energy and mood already!! I only wish we had found Ms Donna and GMMP sooner!!
