Guidepost Montessori at Westlake is comprised of a community of children, parents. and staff whom want children to engage in self-directed learning. The guides (teachers) enable the children to learn by discovery and investigation without qualification of "good" work verses "bad" work. The staff help support that learning through adding organization and infrastructure to school. We, the parents, support all by engaging in this same style of learning at home; partnering in social behavior monitoring and progression. Most importantly, we support those who are doing the work on a day to day basis. Child rearing takes a community. Guidepost Montessori has provided that like-minded community for us. They are striving to differentiate themselves on a day to day basis; however, the community they have created is why we remain here.
