Parent Reviews
Our daughter attended Happy Land Daycare for 1.5 years (6 months- almost 2) before joining her older brother’s preschool. Overall we were very pleased with the program and our daughter seemed happy to attend everyday. Chris, Eileen, Yoyo and the rest of the team established such a strong loving bond with our daughter. And by the time she was two she understood Mandarin, Cantonese and English despite only speaking English at home. We would recommend Happy Land for families looking for a local family daycare in Parkside.
We met Chris, her family, and the other wonderful teachers when my child was five months old. Every teacher is incredibly warm, and knowledgeable about early childhood Ed and emotional development. Our little one thrived there for almost 2 years. Their communication was amazing and they sent so many wonderful pictures everyday I felt like we were there seeing him grow and learn. The staff speak Mandarin Cantonese and English and our son was able to bring that home as well and made his experience that much richer. When weather allows the kids will enjoy the beautiful outdoor space at happy land or walk to nearby park. They went to zoo and pumpkin patch too! They helped us with our sleep and nap habits, and started weaning the pacifier when I was too nervous to do it at home, but it eventually made it easier when we did. I can truly say that Chris and everyone at happy land made us feel like family and brought so much joy to us by caring for our little guy. Our only regret is that we didn’t know about them when our oldest child was needing daycare too.
I found Chris and Happy Land Daycare through yelp during COVID. After interviewing about 10 daycares, I found Chris to be the most accommodating and the best fit for our little one. Our little one has been there since she was 10 weeks old. We've been with Chris for about 2 years now and I am so thankful for their care. The staff are close knit and they treat us like family; it feels like I'm dropping off my little one with an aunty. They're so kind, flexible, and welcoming . The daycare space is immaculate, airy, and filled with sunlight. The kids get to go out everyday on a walk to the nearby park, I love that they get so much fresh air and outdoor time. There is no TV. The kids get homemade meals and everyday. I get daily updates and lots of pictures which really brighten up my day. Many staff speak Mandarin and Cantonese so the kids gets exposure to a second language. The staff take extra childhood development classes. Chris is very communicative, cares deeply about each child's development, and has just been wonderful to work with. I am so grateful to have found Chris and her wonderful team.
Happy Land Family daycare is by far one of the best child care services in the Bay Area. We've interviewed quite a few daycares in SF and Winnie stands out on a variety of factors: 1) Food: Chris ensures the kids are well-fed with her delicious home cooked meals. Our kid has gained healthy weight since going to Winnie's and he loves her cooking! She serves nutritious meals ranging from porridge, noodles, meat, and veggies. 2) Cleanliness: Happy Land Family daycare is extremely clean. Her staff cleans the daycare every day, and they have covid-safe protocols in place. 3) Chinese language immersion: Chris and her staff teaches Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese ) and English to the kids. This is a great way for kids to learn a new language while at daycare. Overall we are very happy with Chris's daycare and we highly recommend!
Our youngest son has been with Chris for the last 2 years since he was 6 months old. Chris has been an incredible teacher and loving care giver. Just as Manny mentioned in his review, Chris has been like a second mom to our son. She cares deeply for her kids and genuinely loves them. As a parent, she has been a joy to work with. She is great about giving us updates on our son's progress and sends us daily photos of his activities. She goes above and beyond when it comes to birthdays and little celebrations. She even threw a "graduation party" for our son on his last day at daycare. We will surely miss her and are so grateful to have entrusted her with our baby. I cannot recommend her enough.
Our daughter attended Happy Land for more than three years ever since she was six months old. Chris was like a second mother to her. Naturally our daughter became very attached. Chris genuinely cares about the children she cares for. She is mindful of the little things which can go a long way. She is happy to talk about the activities for the day or their overall development. Chris helped our daughter develop good habits not just at daycare, but also at home. It was very nice to see our daughter grow and develop from an infant to a little girl and we are grateful to Chris for being a big part of it. I highly recommend Chris.
