We have had such a wonderful experience at LPEC. One of the things that first drew us to the school was the flexibility for children to begin mid-year once they turn 3, which is especially helpful for families with fall birthdays whose children miss the typical August or September enrollment cutoffs. The small class sizes are another big strength. The teachers really know the children as individuals, and the environment feels warm, attentive, and personal rather than overwhelming. Our child has been able to build close relationships with both teachers and classmates while becoming increasingly independent and confident. What really makes LPEC special, though, is how much learning happens beyond the classroom. The children regularly have experiences that make their school days feel genuinely exciting, like trips to the beach and local parks, visits to the Chicago Botanic Garden, plays and performances, and other outings throughout the year. LPEC provides a rich early-childhood experience. We have, of course, also loved the French immersion component. The language is incorporated naturally into the children’s day, and it has been amazing to see how much they absorb at such a young age. We are English speakers with French family roots, but little French language ourselves. Our 4.5 year old came home just yesterday speaking in all French to us. He now likes to be our teacher :) LPEC manages to feel both nurturing and ambitious: small classes, caring teachers, meaningful language exposure, and so many opportunities for children to explore the world around them. We are very happy we found it and would absolutely recommend it to families looking for a thoughtful, engaging preschool experience and beyond.
