Description
Our toddler programs consist of two groups. The 12-18 month-old class and the 18-24 month-old class. Since there are so many changes during these few months we feel children are better served in small groups. Our 12-18 month class is a transition from infant to the toddler stage. This classroom allows the children to explore and develop at their own pace. Independent and assisted feeding is introduced as well as recognition of personal space and sharing. The 18-24 month class further develops the skills of independent feeding, sharing and interacting with friends. This group is introduced to self-help skills such as helping to dress one’s self, playing with friends, and hygiene skills such as washing hands and faces. Both the 12-18 month and 18-24 month classes encourage verbal communication and social development in a loving and supportive environment. Art and outside play are also a part of the children’s daily activities. Potty training is introduced as interest is shown by the child and/or requested by the parent.

Description
LPC has two busy and curious two year old classes, The Terrific Twos. These classes are divided between the younger two year olds, who are not potty trained, and the older two year olds (and some younger three year olds), who are potty trained. We believe, as in all ages, our two year olds should be encouraged to learn and explore at their own pace and skill level. Providing potty trained and not potty trained two year old rooms allow time for potty training the children who are ready to accomplish this skill. This also allows the children who have mastered the skill of potty training to move on to other social and academic horizons. The children are exposed to a wide array of activities that increase cognitive and physical development. Every day includes activities such as; music, stories, outside fun, games, and more.

Potty Training

Description
Our three year old program is primarily for children who turn three before September 1st and who are totally potty trained. The Exceeds Curriculum and the Georgia Early Learning Standards are used to implement instruction with many activities and learning components. Our program is a structured, child centered, and hands-on learning environment. As the children are continually building on academic and social skills previously introduced, they are introduced to new skills such as writing, problem solving, and cooperative and individual learning activities. The children enjoy playing in centers such as dramatic play, science, manipulatives, library, blocks, and art. The following areas are part of the daily schedule; Physical Development, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Literacy Development, Cognitive Development, Transition Activities, Independence and Hygiene. The three-year-olds have access to outside play and other various activities on a daily basis.

Description
Little People’s Corner participates in the four year old Georgia Pre-K Program. The Georgia Pre-K Program is a lottery funded educational program that prepares four year olds for Kindergarten. LPC has two Georgia Pre-K classes. Each four year Pre-K class has two teachers. The lead teachers in the Georgia Pre-K program are state certified and have a degree in Early Childhood Education. The assistant teachers are certified as a Child Development Specialist and have over 20 years of experience each. The four year old programs use an age appropriate curriculum along with the Georgia Early Learning Development Standards to provide the foundation for learning in classrooms as teachers use these and other resources to plan instruction and activities for the children. The classrooms have learning centers set up and each center is supplied with books, learning materials, and activities. Typical learning centers in a Pre-K classroom might include math, blocks, reading, art, science, dramatic play, writing, and music.

Description
Our summer program is full of fun and excitement and will create fabulous memories for your child for many years to come. Summer camp is for children ages five through eleven years old. Children are divided into two age groups. The “YOUNGERS” age group consists of children who have completed the four year old Pre-K and for those who have completed kindergarten/1st grade. The “OLDERS” age group consists of children who have completed first/second grade through age eleven or 5th grade. The division of the classes depends on the number of children and how the division of ages can best suit the children attending each summer. Summer campers will enjoy spending days with other children their age. Throughout the summer they will have fun and develop lasting friendships. Summer days are full of fun at LPC! Your child will enjoy numerous activities throughout the summer. Activities are based on a monthly theme and are always fun. Onsite adventures and activities include games, art, crafts, cooking, scavenger hunts, water days, waterslides and many other outdoor activities.
