This year our family moved from New York to San Francisco with our four-year-old Bryce, who has mild autism and language delay. Moving meant restarting supports, which felt overwhelming. Thanks to a kind referral, we found Selina, and Bryce was warmly welcomed. Bryce greets each day with “I’m going to school!” The joyful routine at Selina School has given him confidence and a sense of belonging, even as language delays persist. Selina’s strengths-based approach helps Bryce explore interests in logic, math, architecture, and music, alongside language support. We absolutely love Selina's Daycare! Selina is an amazing teacher and our daughter is so happy there. She does such a great job with the kids - they do arts and crafts, music, outdoor play, and so many fun learning activities. My daughter comes home excited every day telling me what she learned and what they did. Selina really cares about each child and takes time to understand their needs. Our daughter has grown so much since starting here - she's more confident, social, and learning new things every day. We have had the privilege of sending both our sons, now 8 and 4, to Selina’s for preschool. Selina is an energetic, intuitive and deeply caring educator, and her more than twenty years of experience shines through the curriculum. Both of our kids received excellent age-appropriate and play-based education, from ABCs to nature exploration and experimentation in Selina’s garden. Selina also she works hard to continually refresh and tune her teaching to each of the six students in her care. Our older son loved to delve deeply into storytelling and imaginative play, and Selina gave him space and sensory resources to explore those imaginative worlds, while fostering his connections to other kids. Our younger son loves to build and share games with others, and he often wants to talk about the games he plays with his friends at school. Recently he has enthusiastically embraced drawing and writing, and he loves to show us the pages of practice and pictures he worked on during the day. He also beams with pride when Selina points out his work to us at pick-up. When difficulties do arise, Selina approaches challenges with warmth and an emphasis on connection and care, as she and her long-term co-teacher Raina, work to make sure all students feel seen and cared for. It is clear he has a strong connection to Selina and Raina, and they always show warmth, pride and love for him and all their students. With Selina, we feel truly like family, and it’s clear that this has been a common experience for all her students and their families. Our older son often wants to visit Selina’s, and over the summer, an older graduate, now a kind and responsible high schooler, returned to intern with Selina over the summer. It is not easy to find excellent early childhood education in San Francisco, and even harder to find a school that provides such individualized attention and longstanding connections. Selina is smart, loving and deeply committed to providing her students with the best support and education. We recommend her with the highest confidence.

Both of my children have attended Selina’s Daycare and Preschool, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the loving, safe, and educational environment they’ve experienced here. My son, who is now 3 years and 5 months old, started attending when he was just one. Under Selina’s wonderful guidance, he has learned so much, he can now draw beautifully and even “tests” me at home by showing numbers with his fingers and asking me to guess! Every holiday, the school helps the children create handmade art projects to bring home, which always melt my heart. Most importantly, my son often tells me, “Mommy, I love you,” and I truly believe this comes from the warm and nurturing atmosphere at Selina’s daycare. My daughter also graduated from this school, and she developed a strong love for drawing and a great sensitivity to numbers during her time here. I also want to thank Teacher Raina, who always greets us with kindness and genuinely cares about the children’s meals, bathroom routines, and overall well-being. She always prepares healthy and delicious breakfasts and lunches. I really appreciate her effort and care. Selina is not only a loving teacher but also someone who has very high standards for the school environment. Recently, she even upgraded the outdoor area with new equipment, including a handwashing station that provides both warm and cold water not just cold water like most schools. She is extremely thoughtful, replacing classroom tables and chairs with rounded-edge designs to keep children safe, and choosing light-colored carpets and wooden materials to create a calm, cozy atmosphere that helps children feel emotionally stable and focused. Selina’s Daycare and Preschool is filled with love, patience, and creativity. It’s a place where children grow happily, learn naturally, and feel truly cared for. I highly recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing early learning environment.

Selina is a very knowledgeable and good teacher. She is patient with my two daughters. My older daughter attended her school. And now, my younger daughter is attending the school. She is an important role model. My daughters always remember what she has taught them. Also, Selina and Raina make good and nutritious meals for the kids. My daughters love Selina's School and the food. I strongly recommend Selina's Daycare and Preschool.
