Our 2 year old son started Preschool at St. Thomas last year. He has had and is having such a positive and beneficial experience there. He didn’t go to daycare and it was tough for him to be away from us, but I think he quickly adjusted to being there because the teachers were/are so friendly and thoughtful. The teachers made him (and our whole family) feel very welcomed. I think our boy is thriving at St. Thomas. He’s learning so much and every day he is happy to go to school. All smiles when I drop him off. We love the school! Our little boy is safe and secure at the school and well taken care of by all who work there. Highly recommend.

As a parent to our first child, we knew that it was important to find the right preschool in advance since we heard that spots get filled up fast. Being a local San Francisco native, we wanted our son's preschool to be located in our neighborhood, and most important, we wanted to find the right catholic preschool. We decided to send our child to St. Thomas because we heard great things from friends and after meeting the preschool director Jessie during our tour, it was very clear that she shared the same values, morals and desire to provide the tools and dedication to help our child build a strong foundation. I was sad to hear that the elementary school closed however the preschool is still open and will remain open! P.S. If it helps anyone, this preschool takes kids as early as 2 years old, which made it so convenient since other schools we researched, the minimum age requirement was 2 1/2 to 3 years old.

My husband and I consider ourselves fortunate that our daughter, who is now about to turn six and in kindergarten, attend St. Thomas the Apostle Preschool. She completed 3 years of instruction there, as she started when she was about 2 and 9 months. I marvel at how much she grew during that time, socially and academically. The curriculum was quite enriched. Not only did she learn her numbers, letters, colors, shapes, and how to cut with scissors, but she learned to appreciate reading, art, gardening, music, the outdoors, and she took Spanish and Mandarin language classes. The class sizes were small, about 5 students to a teacher, all of whom were well trained as early childhood educators. Our daughter's time at STA Preschool spanned pre and post COVID. STA preschool took every single possible precaution, following guidance from the CDC and other health agencies, to keep everyone in the school community safe, including online learning in the beginning of the pandemic, and transitioning to in-person learning by Fall 2020. From the 3 years our child spent at STA Preschool, she learned that learning really is fun. She loves going to school now, and is currently attending STA's "big school" which runs from Kindergarten through the 8th grade. She adjusted extremely well to kindergarten and is not only meeting her learning expectations, but exceeding them. If you have a child and are looking for preschools in San Francisco, I highly recommend considering STA Preschool at the top of your list!
