This is long overdue but not forgotten. Sunshine Child Care has been an absolute god send for me and my family. We originally toured almost 8 different daycares throughout the city (both in-home and facility run) and landed on Sunshine because it met many of our criterias: - affordable (not the cheapest but definitely didn't bankrupt us) - great reviews - clean and well organized home - most importantly, the people running it were amazing I sent first child at around 5 months and never truly worried about her safety or health. Both Derek and Fun were so wonderful and took care of my daughter that I knew she was in good hands. Then the pandemic hit. They had to shutdown during this time and even when some restrictions were lifted they chose to stay closed for a little longer to make sure they were truly ready and safe. We were one of the only families to come back to this location and I was worried about my daughter being alone. Luckily 2 other families joined (and we became a 'pod'- remember those?). During peak pandemic times, Derek, Fun, and (then later) Shelly became my kids' second family. I'm pretty certain at some points my kids loved Funfun and Shelly more than me (can't blame them). When I had my 2nd I had no doubts and popped him there as well. Both of my kids have now outgrown/left but both still think fondly and miss Fun/Shelly. Also, I want to give Sunshine credit for helping teach my kids to read/write at an early age. Both of my kids could both sound out and read by the time they were 3! We love Sunshine and am grateful for all they've done for my kids during those early years.
