Parent Reviews
We had a really positive experience with Sweet Peas for our 4 year old. The staff are all very caring and dedicated and they are tuned into the social and emotional needs of all their students students. They have a beautiful, light-filled indoor & outdoor space. Their programming includes art, yoga, music, sensory bins, and during the second half of the year, the introduced the handwriting without tears curriculum. They have monthly field trips with parent volunteer support, and host events to foster an engaged parent community. We really appreciated all they do!
Our son had a wonderful experience at Sweet Peas. The facility is clean, well maintained, and has both indoor spaces and a large outdoor play area. The director Samantha has run Sweet Peas as a labor of love for many years and she was very communicative with parents through the year, particularly in dealing with the complex COVID situation. Our son really thrived there, learned a lot, and his time at Sweet Peas helped him improve his speech which is an area he was behind. There was good continuity of teaching staff during the time we were there, which was great, as there can be high turnover in other SF pre schools. We also particularly liked the art program... they were always doing really interesting art projects way beyond basic coloring, etc. We would enthusiastically recommend Sweet Peas to other parents!
My daughter loved her time at Sweet Peas. Starting day 1 she would wake up and be so excited if it was a school day. I loved the teachers - who were so caring and collaborative, and Samantha, the director worked so hard to communicate and adjust as COVID threw us all for a loop. My daughter has learned so much - not only her letters and sounds, but also ways to play well with other children, new concepts about space and robots and 'community helpers'. As well as life skills about following directions, and 'first time listening'. Although her favorite is still probably art - I love the way she gets to play with different media, and I can't wait for this year's art show. I'm so grateful that my daughter was able to experience Sweet Peas.
My daughter loves it here and enjoys the special programs like music. They helped us all so much through the pandemic.
This is truly a wonderful school - first and foremost - a great group of teachers (and director) - loving and caring, joyful and energetic, smart and attentive. The school setting is lovely, with a really spacious indoor space and a super-fun (and big!) outdoor space (before the pandemic when I would pickup my kid from inside school - he would always want to stay outdoors and play there "just a bit longer"). The program is very well balance - between play, social-emotional focus and some academics. My 2 older kids went here (my 2nd one will graduate this summer) and while they are v-e-r-y different from each other - they both thrived at this school - which in my mind speaks a lot to the quality of the school and how they really see each kid.
