Parent Reviews
My child is in her second school year at The Dahlia School of San Francisco in Mission Bay, currently in kindergarten. After considering many options, my husband and I fell in love with Dahlia and learned that the Montessori method is incredibly beneficial. What makes this school our 1st choice is: 1. It's Spanish immersion, so there is an environment that celebrates learning languages and, more importantly, cultures. In the future, there is a plan to introduce French as well. 2. They make the city their classroom – they created a garden, so went to the nursery to buy the supplies, go to the library weekly (nearby), have a weekly swim and soccer class, do yoga, and much more! It’s amazing. 3. They work closely with families to understand how the dynamic at home plays a vital role in maximizing our child's learning experience. I found this helpful as the head teacher helped me explore different methods to implement at home which benefited my child all around. 4. They take a holistic approach with the children – not just looking at academics but also behavior and emotions. Their method has allowed our child to understand and take responsibility for their actions and our child's learning has flourished as a result. 5. We see an authentic and organic community being created at Dahlia where we feel our child is safe and is learning with her peers from diverse backgrounds. Their commitment to diversity is so important to us. We started this journey with Dahlia two years ago and now have our younger child enrolled in their toddler program; no diapers for him, they all wear underwear and potty train to help save the environment from diapers. Wow!
Our child has been attending Dahlia - Primary School since it first opened in 2021. During his time there he has grown to be independent and communicative. Dahlia encourages children to be active and caring members of the community. The staff is dedicated and invested in each child. Feedback and discussion is welcomed and always responded to - through direct communication with the staff or Head of School.
Our 4 1/2 year old daughter started with Dahlia school for the 2022-23 school year. She transitioned well and has had great support from the guides and staff. The environment is clean and friendly and the work is tailored to each child's needs. Such a pleasure to drop her off every morning.
