Parent Reviews
It’s hard to put into words the incredible experience we had at The ELIE House. I was lucky enough to find Poppy when my first born was 20 months old, back in October 2019. My oldest stayed at Poppy’s until he entered kindergarten. He was able to start kindergarten knowing how to read, his colors, his shapes, how to use scissors and math…well ahead of all his peers. My second son was born at the beginning of covid lockdown and started when he was only 12 weeks old when I had to return to work. This was such an incredibly difficult time for the world but specifically for me to have to leave my 3 month old in someone else’s hands but luckily for me I already knew and trusted Poppy. At that stage Poppy was not only a caretaker but a friend and confidant for myself as well. My youngest too was able to start with the skills his brother had before him and my friends were all envious of the experience we had (so much so that I referred them to her!) To this day I still consider myself so fortunate to have found her and am happy to have her as part of our family! I promise you will not regret the decision to join The ELIE House family as well!
I cannot say enough good things about The Elie House! I have had two of my daughters attend The Elie House, and I plan to have my 3rd as well. As a Mother, honestly my top priority was to find a daycare provider that was 1) safe and 2) loved my children. The daycare owner, Poppy, provides an absolutely safe, loving, and nurturing environment. I cannot imagine anyone else now ever watching my kiddos! To share with you a few examples - both of my girls LOVE Poppy, and always would ask to go to "school" even on the weekends. Even since my 2nd daughter has stopped going (because she got older and was ready for "big girl school") she still talks about Poppy and the friends she made there all the time. She even randomly asked recently if we could bring Poppy flowers she loves her so much! To share a few more wonderful details, Poppy makes sure the kids have a wonderful environment, both inside and out. She has lots of nurturing toys, and activities for them outside as well. They're always crafting, painting, and she has fun equipment for them to play on in her big, beautiful backyard. They're always doing something fun! She celebrates the kids' birthdays, let's them take turns helping preparing lunch (she just finds little ways to make them each feel special like this). On the structure side, I never expected this of an in-home daycare, but my eldest actually learned to spell her name, and they both learned the alphabet, colors, counting, and so much more! She's so great at teaching them! It truly is a gift. Something else that Poppy is really passionate about is nutrition. These kiddos don't eat food like chicken nuggets - she makes them things like chicken teriyaki and pasta with aspargus and they eat it and love it! Literally my girls would only eat veggies at Poppy's house because she's great at being creative and getting them interested in food. Lastly, after 5+ years of knowing the owner, Poppy, I consider her a friend now. I'm so grateful for the love, education and nurturing environment she creates for families, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is kind, loving, full of energy and joy - she's the exact sort of human any family would be so blessed to have watching their kiddos. I am beyond grateful to her!
Sending our daughter to the ELIE house was the best early education decision and we only wish we could have found her sooner! She teaches the kids to work and play together like a little family. Lots of respect between the kids. Lots of fun being had in the pictures she would text during the day. She definitely kept the kids busy with creative activities with a mix of inside and outside time. My daughter was well prepared for TK when she graduated from Poppy’s program in July. I think she’s actually prepared for Kinder level. The lunches were yummy and balanced. She has a beautifully organized and well thought out home and backyard that supports the needs of her little school. Also, Poppy is easy to communicate with and is absolutely a partner in navigating kid stuff like addressing behaviors or concerns that arise as they inevitably do from time to time. We found her to be such a great sounding board and we very much value our relationship with Poppy and the little friends our daughter made at the ELIE house
Fantastic! I cannot say enough good things about the ELIE house. My child started at 14 months and attended for over 3.5 years. The small ratio and attentive staff allowed my son to receive tons of support to his growth and development physically, emotionally, and academically. From helping him try to new foods, supporting our potty training journey, teaching him to write at an early age, and teaching STEM concepts, I was consistently blown away. Extra bonus points for finding ways to nuture his specific interests with activities, both educational and play time. He’s leaving a confident child ready to tackle elementary school. We were so pleased with our time we have recommended the ELIE house to other families and plan to enroll our second born. You won’t be disappointed.
