Parent Reviews
We feel so lucky to have found Little Scholars Academy for our son! Akhila is an incredible teacher — patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. She creates a classroom that supports academic growth while also nurturing social and emotional development. The balance of activities is wonderful, with STEM learning, reading, crafts, music, dance, outdoor play, socializing, and even fun field trips. We also really appreciate the nutritious lunches and snacks provided each day. One of our favorite things is the daily wrap-ups with pictures and videos, which give us a glimpse into our son’s day and all he’s learning. Most importantly, our son loves going to school every day. We wholeheartedly recommend Little Scholars Academy to any family looking for a supportive, enriching preschool experience.
We love Little Scholars Academy! Every activity Akhila and her assistant plans seems so intentional and builds on top of each other. We like that she has a weekly theme that is based on the students interest. She blends academics into play and the student's natural exploration. My son is obsessed with anything that has wheels and one week the theme was trucks! He learned about all the different types of construction trucks and their function. Akhila incorporated numbers and colors in their play by creating car garages that had numbers and different colors. She made it into a fun game for the students by asking them to park the trucks inside specific garages based on the number or color. As a parent I love how she incorporates learning and academics into play. Akhila met with us before he started the program to go over his interest and our development goals and she offers two teacher conference meetings a year. Everyday we get an email summary about what our son is learning, activities he participated in and how much he ate and slept that day. We also are in the private WhatsApp group that has photos of the day so we are never left in the dark about what he is doing in school. I use it to ask my son questions about what he did/ learned in school. We are very happy with the amount of attention and care our son gets from the program. The school is capped at 7 students and they have two teachers on staff. A smaller class size was what we were looking for in a preschool because we really value safety and close attention in our kids' education. We also wanted a school that allowed our son to foster a strong bond with other kids and with the small class size and group activities my son has developed strong friendships :) Another bonus is that the program has a music teacher that comes 2x a month and the school plans field trips 2-3x a month to local museums and zoos! They provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack — all freshly made each day by Akhila. We receive photos of the meals, and I love that they incorporate daily organic meat or seafood into every meal. The variety is incredible — from chicken Thai basil to turmeric-cumin roasted chicken with quinoa, roasted vegetables, organic fruit, and milk. You can actually smell the freshly prepared meals at drop-off, and they always smell delicious! As foodies, we really appreciate how our son is getting exposed to such diverse, nutritious meals from an early age.
Let me put it this way: the first few days our son attended Little Scholars, he cried at pickup. He didn't want to leave. If that's not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is! We couldn't be happier, and feel so incredibly lucky to have landed at this preschool. He was in a Montessori environment prior to this which we now know was almost the complete opposite of this nurturing, collaborative atmosphere Akhila and Khira are so good at creating. Every day has outdoor play out in the neighborhood, interacting with community not just within the class. Gym time, library storytime, local playgrounds, nature walks. As parents we get incredibly detailed and lovely insights into their days: the new games they invent, the new friendships forming, the new interests developing. Tons of cute photos are the cherry on top. Why can't we give 11 stars?
Little Scholars Academy is absolutely the best preschool we have found in San Francisco! It is a small and homey environment that is warm, nurturing, and endlessly enriching. Our son has thrived in his 6 months there - constantly coming home with new science trivia, songs to sing, yoga moves, and stories about his adventures with his friends. He begs to go on the weekend, and runs out of the house in the AM to go to school. Akhila is a magician with the kids and has so much love, creativity, patience and calmness. We love the daily writeups from Akhila about the kids' activities, and all the pictures we receive. It's an amazing spot and we couldn't be happier!
The Little Scholars program has been the best choice for my child. Maia heads to school excited every day and comes home inspired after exploring and learning. The program is educational and fun, with daily activities that teach about nature, letters, numbers, and exciting STEM projects. It keeps children engaged and eager to learn. Akhila creates a nurturing and positive environment where kids thrive. I highly recommend Little Scholars Academy to parents looking for a loving, education-focused place for their child to grow and explore.

Little Scholars Academy isn't just a preschool; it's a testament to Ms. Akhila's dedication and our love for her teaching philosophy. Moreover, the home-based setting of Little Scholars Academy provides a nurturing and intimate environment where children feel safe, valued, and cherished. With small class sizes, each child receives individualized attention, ensuring their holistic development in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains. Parents entrusting their children to Little Scholars Academy can rest assured that they are providing them with a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
As a parent I find Akhila's program rich and highly educational for our 2 year old. He's developed a number of great habits since starting in March like being able to focus on activities, while also knowing how to get out his energy. I love to read the daily updates Akhila sends out letting me know everything the kids did that day. I would highly recommend the program to everyone.
