Parent Reviews
After a very extensive and thorough search for childcare services, we decided to bringing our child to You & Me Children Center. Our family has trusted You & Me with our child's wellbeing and development for about a year and half now. We feel very grateful for their service, and happy with our decision. We recommend this place to all of our neighbors and family in the local area. You & Me runs a very well-organized facility, and the main directors bring a lot of experience ensuring quality and reliable childcare service. I reviewed their inspection reports at this facility, and others that they run, and they are operating according to government standards. I found the pricing to be very fair, especially given their hours. The hours are very convenient. We are able to drop off our child before the start of our working day, and make it on time for work. We can also make pick-up on time after work. However, we do try to be considerate of the teachers, who have their own families and deserve to rest (especially to continue providing quality care for our child). The facilities are well-kept, clean and well-organized, with plenty of toys for each child, as well as with clearly designated and separate areas for each age group and class. They use a software app (BrightWheel) that allows a child's teacher to communicate daily with the child's parents/guardians. For example, we get daily notifications about when the child is checked in or out, sleeps, wakes, eats (how much), has a diaper change, etc. We also receive select photos and videos of our child during learning or play activities. Furthermore, we're able to message the teachers and vice versa through the app, which helps to communicate late drop-offs, early pick-ups, reminders to bring more wipes or diapers, etc. Finally, the app is used for monthly billing and payment. All to say, this is very convenient. They employ considerate and attentive teachers who provide sound, age-appropriate curriculum, as well as provide structured daily activities to meet a child's biological, social, intellectual, and emotional needs. We find that our child has grown considerably. In fact, our family speaks Spanish & English, and no one in our family speaks Mandarin. Thanks to the teachers at You & Me, our child is now the first person in the history of our family to learn Mandarin. Our child has also grown in their verbal and math abilities, in terms of recognizing letters and counting. Our family does not speak Mandarin, and not all teachers speak English. However, we've been able to communicate just fine by asking another teacher or parent to interpret, and/or by using the language translation apps on our phone. You & Me also provides parent-teacher conference twice a year. This has been a great way to sit down and speak with our child's teacher for an extended period of time (about 20-30 minutes). The teachers will share how our child is progressing, and show us a binder full of pictures of our child during various activities, as well as art created by our child. This is a great opportunity to get to know the teachers better, receive feedback, share questions, etc. Of course, you don't have to wait until each parent-teacher conference to speak with the teachers, but it's a great chance to do so. Furthermore, our child has developed relationships with the other children, and so our child's social skills are developing. We've also developed relationships with the other parents/guardians as well. The school holds occasional gatherings for children and their families (Halloween, near the winter holidays, "graduation" season, etc.), and that's been a good way to get to know more people and families. We did notice some turn-over with the teachers. However, the directors always managed to hire competent and caring teachers in a timely fashion, and the quality of care remains consistent. This suggests they have a good system in place to onboard new teachers with consistent, quality care provided to the children. We decided to keep our child enrolled here because how well the place is run and how our child has developed there. We will continue to recommend You & Me to our friends and family.
