Position Overview
The Assistant Teacher supports the daily care, supervision, and learning environment of the classroom while developing foundational skills in early childhood education.

This role is essential to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and well-functioning classroom and serves as the entry point on the school’s Career Ladder.

Key Responsibilities Child Supervision & Safety

• Maintain active supervision and ensure a safe classroom environment at all times
• Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements
• Establish strong routines and classroom structure

• Assist with daily routines including arrival, meals, toileting, naps, and transitions
• Support classroom setup, cleanup, and organization
• Help prepare materials and learning areas

• Build warm, respectful relationships with children
• Use positive guidance strategies as directed by Lead Teacher
• Model calm, respectful communication

• Communicate professionally and respectfully with families
• Share updates on children’s progress and classroom activities
• Maintain confidentiality and strong professional boundaries

• Complete required documentation and observations
• Participate in training, coaching, and evaluations
• Maintain compliance with all Avimor Academy policies and standards

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Ability to meet all Idaho Child Care Licensing requirements
• Experience in a licensed childcare setting preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
