*Create an inviting, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes exploration, discovery, and meaningful learning.
*Conduct regular formative and summative assessments to document children’s progress using approved assessment tools.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with children and families to encourage ongoing communication and active family participation in the learning process.
*Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and center leadership to ensure a consistent and high-quality educational experience for all children.
*Maintain compliance with all North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) regulations and program requirements.
*Implement strategies that foster social-emotional development, positive behavior, and a respectful, community-oriented classroom culture.
*Participate in all required training sessions, professional development sessions, and team planning meetings.

Qualifications:
*Must meet one of the following education standards:
*AAS or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD) and 1 year of early childhood work experience or at least 6 months of coaching/mentoring for at least 5 hours per week, or
*Completion of all required ECE coursework for an AAS degree program in which the individual is enrolled, without full completion of the degree, and 1 year of early childhood work experience, or
*Completion of at least 60 semester hours toward a Bachelor's degree, including at least 12 semester hours in ECE/CD, and 2 years of early childhood work experience, or
*AAS or higher in any major with at least 12 semester hours in ECE/CD and 2 years of early childhood work experience or at least 6 months of coaching/mentoring for at least 5 hours per week, or
*10 years of early childhood work experience and annual completion of 2.5 CEUs specific to the ages/needs of children in care and successful completion of a competency evaluation.
*Must be able to provide a current DCDEE WORKS education status letter verifying qualifications.
*Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong passion for building meaningful family partnerships.
*Must pass all required background checks and health screenings in compliance with DCDEE regulations.
*Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Physical Requirements
*Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
*Capable of walking, standing, bending, squatting and kneeling for extended periods.
*Able to move quickly to respond to children's needs and to ensure child safety.
Why Join Learning Jungle?
